A few myths to dispel: 1. Teachers are not paid for the holidays. You read that right, teachers are not paid for the holidays. They could be classed as TOIL for the unpaid overtime they routinely do, but actually they are just not paid (despite many working, prepping etc.).

I do love the waiting around on set. We've talked Handmaid's Tale, sickly socks, whether high waisted trousers are more creative and team-solved a crossword. I've also discovered that two other members of the cast have also had to miss recalls today. Plus great catering. #acting

@SamMarsdenDrama I can never quite understand why drama features so little in KS1/2. A brief mention in the English curriculum when really it should be a whole subject all of its own.

Our world is changing fast and kids need to be taught skills to thrive in it. Including: Improvisation Teamwork Intuition Confidence Curiosity Empathy Communication skills Drama can help with these skills.

@Diddleydooda1 @jon_hutchinson_ Young Voices is such a stressful day out and an admin nightmare. Also, not sure that the children get any more out of the performance than being in a venue where they can actually see their parents encouraging and smiling at them.

@jon_hutchinson_ Binned years ago. I'm going put this out there too - 'Young Voices' is heading the same way. Lots of excess expense.

I didn’t want to tweet at the time as it may embarrass the schools I saw promoting them, but a reminder that young writers competitions are usually scams. I know we want to excite kids & give them a purpose to write, but best not to pressure parents into handing ££ to fraudsters.
