I do wish the people who attack LoK could be more honest about some of the writing problems with ATLA as well. It was a wonderfully executed series but there are some major issues that get ignored because of how well it executes on the ideas.

The US has only one office that's elected by American voters as a whole. The fact that we have a system that in that one race allows a minority of voters to dictate to the majority and decide who gets the office is ridiculous and stupidly anti-democratic. We're always going to have it, but that's a bad thing.

When ppl's understanding of western armor is rooted mostly in games or anime, it’s easy to makes you think maille or gambesons are useless, while they actually ruled the battlefield over 1,000 years. Furthermore, many criticisms of women's armor are very polarized either target sexualization or desexualization.
Some ppl might think armor should always prioritize utility, but if you delve into historical sources or even travel to Europe. You’ll find that reality is far more fascinating than you imagined, filled with aesthetic and romantic choices.
So... I've been drawing armored women for four years now. While these types of critiques still appears everyday on other armor girl artists, they have almost vanished from my feed. Can't lie I sometimes miss the old days. 🤭
