@MatthewEvolves Honstly, I think it depends on what happens next season. Dobes is playing with house money in these playoffs. Let's not forget that less than two months local media and most of the fanbase were screaming for the Habs to trade for Bobrovsky at the deadline.

How do you re-tool a team in a year or two with one of the thinnest prospect pools in the league & with their top tradeable assets except or Knies having non-movement clauses.

@CraigTysowski @_PyjamaBoy Another smart hockey man but he'd be dealing with the same issues... the core guys are making a ton of money, none of them can be traded unless they agree to it, the prospect pool is thin and the fanbase seems think they are but a player or two away. Not an easy job right now,.

I like Sundin in a bit of a lesser role and culture wise in terms of restoring pride back to the organization but the Chayka fascination this whole time has been a real head scratcher to me. I just don’t understand how this is your best option after this whole process.

I'm not saying it is impossible, I'm just saying it is putting Dobson in a difficult spot.

@DemidovHabs In the playoffs, especially when your scoring depth is still a little sketchy, it is more difficult for your best players to shine because the opponents can lock in on them and not worry about another line. Also, the opposing goalie is one of the best of his generation.

I think tonight’s game will tell us a lot. We need Suzuki, Caufield and Slafkovsky to show up big tonight, or we’re gonna need to start having serious conversations. Your best players need to be your best players in game 7, there’s no excuse.

@TalkeyHockey I agree with everything you are saying but I also think most Leafs fans are underplaying the shitty hand the new GM is being dealt given the lack of prospects and most of the tradeable assets having no movmeent clauses.

If Pelley let's Sundin and Chayka do their jobs, I really do think some positives will come out of it. One hope for me is that Berube is gone. The fact he isn't yet is upsetting but I have hope Mats and John will make the right decision and can his ass the first day on the job.

Chayka was a 26 year old thrown into a position he wasn't ready for with no mature support to help him and a shit owner to boot. He made some mistakes. There's a reason why guys under 30 don't usually become president of a pro sports team. Arizona's ownership was dumb.

@AvocadoPaul Whichever team loses tonight, we'll also find out which other players are competing injured. Brayden Point does not look like himself, nor does Cole Caufield. Yes, that might be a good shutdown defence, but it would not surprise me to hear that both of these players are injured.
