In 1983 eleven TDs (only) voted against the 8th Amendment in the Dail. Eight were Labour TDs. One - Eileen Desmond - was a woman. They were vilified, abused, threatened. But they stood up for women then and against the danger to women posed by the 8th. Finally vindicated tonight.
