Lots of in depth advice about how to make sure you can scale, but here’s an easy one for day one: your primary key starts at 1024, not zero, not one. The only thing that knows this is your “new <T>” flow

@NWSSanAntonio If you’re visiting an area with no or sparse signage to designated areas, what should you do?

@mixedrealityTV Racing, yes (but not past the beyond); flight sims, no. Vastly different amounts of head movement and hot heatedness :)

VR Developers, don’t use the Meta XR SDK to develop your games. Whether you use Unity or Unreal, you should use the built-in OpenXR support in the engines. The Meta XR SDK only works with Quest & Link; it is a buggy mess hardcoded to not work with other runtimes and headsets.

We are pleased to announce the release of the Best Practices Validation Layer. It addresses a critical need in XR development: catching suboptimal API usage patterns that can lead to inconsistent behavior across different OpenXR runtimes. Learn more: khronos.org/blog/new-openx… #XR

FYI to @KyFaSt in case this is a factor in the recent archival decision. In particular, have a credential for a resident key from iCloud Keychain with prf extension, Apple always crashes. Not looking for support, just an FYI that it’s still useful :)

hmmpf. just buy a laptop! or better, a gamepad+TV! these are getting ridiculously huge Same reason why Minority Report style arm-waving UIs won't take off, as why Kinect failed, and before it, Power Glove: People's arms get tired waving/holding arms up for long periods. Duh

@BattleAxeVR @matcorp_off @UploadVR +1 - Some sims correctly (well, realistically) implement monocular HUDs in VR (eg DCS World, depending on the aircraft) - common source of discomfort. Some never get used to it, but often takes hours.

*big* fan of 2FA and passkeys when implemented properly, but often feels like someone said “we need 2FA” then ticked the box without actually thinking of what problems/attacks they wanted to solve

“Login with code send to my email” instead of password + 2FA would be just as secure with fewer steps

Activision always email you backup codes when you activate 2FA… so if your email gets compromised, your Activision account is compromised. What was the point of 2FA again?
