What I experienced at ViennaUP 2026 posting before leaving Vienna ( and before forget )
Over the past few days, ViennaUP brought together founders, investors, corporates, and researchers from across Europe and beyond. The event offered a broad view of the startup ecosystem, from early-stage ideas to more mature ventures.
The WarmUP Weekend (15–17 May) set the tone with collaborative events such as the European Tech Hackathon and StartupLive 26 pitches.
Some of the sessions that stood out to me included:
• Connect Day, which created meaningful opportunities for founders, corporates, and investors to meet.
• Manufacturing Day, organised by EIT Manufacturing, focused on scaling industrial innovation and featured insights from speakers including David Mindell.
• Several health and life sciences events, including the Onco:Innovate Europe Conference, the Longevity Business Forum, and a range of health-tech and age-tech pitches.
• Community-led gatherings such as The Recursive CEE Forum, Female Founders Experience Vienna, INSIDEOUT Summit, World Summit Awards Global Congress, and Creative Days Vienna.
• Coffee House Sessions, which offered smaller roundtable discussions in traditional Viennese cafés.
There were also pitch competitions, hackathons, and informal networking throughout the city, including at Homebase in Karlsplatz.
What stood out most was the diversity of ideas and the openness of the conversations. ViennaUP felt less like a single conference and more like a citywide platform for collaboration and exchange.

Michael Truell@mntruell
Composer 2.5 is now the most-chosen model in Cursor. We're giving everyone 10x usage for the rest of the day. Enjoy!
English

@elonmusk It’s impressive, meanwhile google launches their new gemini fast model that in reality just drains your wallet faster

As the recently expanded partnership with @AnthropicAI demonstrates, @SpaceX is offering AI compute as a service at significant scale.
We are in discussions with other companies to do the same.
Over time, especially with orbital data centers, we expect to serve AI at extremely high scale.

@TechWithMatteo @Samaytwt Yeah trackpad is really untouched, that’s one thing Apple really perfected.
But doesn’t matter if you can just hammer your hyprland keybinds like a madman
English

@Samaytwt windows gaming laptop, i use it for side projects and its actually pretty solid, the only thing i miss is the trackpad

Two Bulgarian friends killed the entire streaming industry.
It's called Stremio + Torrentio. You get 4K content from Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, and HBO Max combined for free.
Here's how it works.
Stremio is the player. Clean interface. Works on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS, and TV. You install it once and it looks like any other streaming app.
Torrentio is the addon. You add it to Stremio in one click. It scrapes content from every major torrent provider on the internet simultaneously and delivers the best available stream directly to your player. 720p, 1080p, 4K. You pick the quality. It finds the link.
→ No account required
→ No subscription
→ Works on every device
→ 4K and HDR supported
→ Subtitles built in
Netflix cannot shut this down. There is no central server to seize. No company to pressure. No domain to kill. It runs on your device and pulls from the open internet.
The entire streaming industry is built on one assumption. That you will keep paying $70/month rather than spend 5 minutes on GitHub.
That assumption just died in Sofia, Bulgaria.

@RyanOlunix I checked out olunix bro, looks solid. You open to discuss a possible collaboration?

@elonmusk @AnthropicAI @SpaceX Orbital data centres are the only logical way to go forward. Nobody wants to have big ugly data centres in their neighbourhood draining their water. We need to scale intelligence in the orbit and beyond!
