Premier @ABDanielleSmith has confirmed her staff were on the zoom call with separatists that shared a database with nearly 3 million Albertans' personal information -- now the centre of this data breach scandal. Alberta's NDP immediately went to the RCMP when we learned of this. Danielle Smith and her staff did not. Ignorance is not an acceptable excuse. Albertans are waiting on the Premier to answer for this directly.

I understand that my personal information, including my home address, was shared publicly on a screen at a recent Alberta separatist event. It was also recorded on video, and is now circulating. This was apparently part of the outrageous data leak of Albertans’ private information, wherein Elections Alberta shared its entire detailed provincial voter database with the “Republican Party of Alberta,” which in turn shared it with some separatist group called the “Centurion Project,” whose leadership then shared my personal information publicly. Over the past few years I have received no shortage of threats from people broadly associated with the separatist / antivax / far right movement in Alberta. So it is disturbing that my personal information is now broadly available, particularly in those circles. While I have been targeted specifically, the broader data breach may also effect vulnerable Albertans, including victims of domestic violence, journalists, activists, judges, and other public servants for years to come. I will retain legal counsel to seek advice on recourse regarding this outrageous and potentially dangerous violation of my personal privacy.

Nova Scotia's education minister delivered a fiery speech against parents rights and limiting trans care for minors in an exchange in the legislature. “My parents were a sperm donor and an egg donor. That’s it. They gave me some genes and walked the heck away," he said describing his troubled upbringing. “And I’ll be damned if I’m going to stand here and listen to someone say that the parents deserve rights over a child. No, they don’t. They absolutely don’t.” Referring to my exclusive reporting on bottom surgeries approved by Nova Scotia Health for trans teens, he said: “If you’re going to quote someone … rather Gandhi than Hitler. Not saying that these people are either. Just know who you’re quoting,” he said. He called the material “disgusting” and “gross.”

My wife collapsed in our hotel room in New York today “Call an ambulance, I can’t breathe” she was screaming My heart dropped If she ends up in an American hospital we are financially ruined I went on the Lufthansa app to book a flight back to Frankfurt, but unfortunately pilots are on strike today “Please I’m begging you” she was lying on the floor I sighed and called 911 She is now in surgery as apparently her appendix “almost burst” I am extremely scared This is going to cost us at least $100,000 She could have received much better care, for free, in Germany I will never visit this barbaric country ever again

I have audio of a Public Health Agency of Canada employee saying they are using “real doctors this time.” This time? I called three times. Three different agents. Three completely different answers. How were claims reviewed before without “real doctors”? How were people denied without “real doctors”? Who WERE making those decisions? Who chose them? Why do I have to file a Freedom of Information request just to find out? After years of waiting, now we are told they are starting over? Millions in taxpayer money spent. Gone.
