@bradchattergoon I’m a chem PhD candidate- I’m currently interviewing a high school junior who wants to do some computational work for my group over the summer. I had wanted to give the opportunity to an undergrad who was exploring but the one who was willing to try dropped on me after 2 months

My sense is that this is becoming the dominant type of person who gets opportunities in an academic setting, e.g. PhDs. They already know, through early exposure, what they want to do and get started before they even step foot on a college campus. What's the problem? 1/
