IMO this is like saying you can't control your attraction to a family member. Cause if you're dating my friend, you're in a place in my mind that attraction just does not go. If you don't have that mental no-no zone then what groups do you have those boundaries with? None?

You really don’t. I’ve developed crushes on friends’ partners because attraction isn’t something you control or plan. You do however have the ability and responsibility to know that you don’t have to act on every attraction and to kill that shit with fire like a grown up.
