Federation of Sri Lankan Local Government Authorities (FSLGA) facilitated an exposure visit of the representatives of Bangladesh, Nepal, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Cambodia to the Kandy Municipal Council, Sri Lanka.

Empowering women administrators to take up new challenges. Effective communication is essential for managing the council and delivering effective services to citizens. Women Administrators are provided with training to develop communication strategies for councils.

FSLGA facilitated Norwood Pradeshiya Sabha to conduct a follow-up review meeting of the Citizen charter in consultation with the citizens in the council area. The citizen charter was reviewed following the guidelines issued by the Public Administration Circular Number 05/2008.

FSLGA conducted an interactive discussion with the primary stakeholders in the Kalawana Pradeshiya Sabha areas as part of the "Enhance Community Resilience to the Impacts of Climate Change and Disaster Management" project, funded under the DAP/DFAT Australia

H.E. Eric Walsh, Canadian Commissioner to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, opened the #ComWLG South Asia Regional Conference, highlighting the importance of reinforcing social resilience by empowering women local government leaders. Federation of Sri Lankan Local Govt Authorities facilitated establishing a committee of "mentors" to provide necessary support and guidance for women taking up political careers.

FCM's PMI-WILL project has supported partners from Ghana, Zambia and Sri Lanka to participate in discussions in the Commonwealth Local Government Conference (CLGF) last week in Kigali, Rwanda. Our PMI-WILL partners also participated in a working group session on gender equality for resilient local communities, sharing their experiences and knowledge of local government policy and country specific developments with their peers. #CLGC2023 #PMIWILL
