For baseball nerds like me, this is the problem I have with the ABS system coming to MLB. It was a strike when it crossed the plate. And was correctly called. But by time catcher caught it, looked low. ABS challenge system will call it a ball. I say let the umps call it. FWIW.

@Frank_Frangie Why does’t the ABS change with the batter? When you look at Judge vs. Altuve, the ABS zone appears to be the same.

So the box on the screen is NOT the ABS. If you noticed, the box on the screen was below Oneil Cruz's belt. ABS does indeed read based on when it crosses the front plane of the plate -- which notably is NOT the zone defined in the rulebook. This umpire had a phenomenal game, only missed 5 pitches in the entire game. This was one of them, and absolutely the most egregious.
