When someone says surrogacy was the “safest option,” what they usually mean is safest for them. That word is doing a lot of heavy lifting. Pregnancy doesn’t become safe, it just gets transferred to a poorer woman whose risk is treated as acceptable.

@ts3cat @DaileyGriot901 @x_SarahBear_x I'm a 911 paramedic and I will lose my job if I refuse a call. doesn't matter where it is. Same goes for dispatch if someone's not breathing. I will say mentioning drugs on the phone makes cops more likely, and I understand that concern. at a minimum TELL US as SOON AS we arrive.

@ts3cat @DaileyGriot901 @x_SarahBear_x We always carry narcan. Whatever you tell dispatch is what we will know coming in the door. If you want us coming in the door knowing we need to give narcan, tell dispatch it's an overdose.

If someone is overdosing don’t tell 911 that til they get there. Tell them they stopped breathing. Sometimes, esp in Black & Brown & homelessness areas, they’re less likely to come for ODs, but are required to come for respiratory arrest.
