He built it over a weekend. For himself. Today every developer on the planet uses it. Meet Abhinav Asthana ,the IIT kid who built a $5.6B company from a Chrome extension. > Born in Kanpur. IIT Bombay. Computer Science. > Interned at Yahoo Bangalore in 2010. > One frustration kept following him. > Testing APIs was a nightmare. No clean tool existed. > So he built one. > In 2012 - A Chrome extension. Built on weekends. Named it Postman. Put it on the Chrome Web Store and forgot about it. > Downloads started trickling in. > Then flooding. > His manager had no idea. > The "side project" was quietly becoming the most downloaded developer tool in the Chrome store. > Half a million developers. Zero marketing spend. > In 2014 — quit his job. > Team of 3. Office in Bangalore. > Before Bangalore startups were cool. > Growth strategy? None. > Just a tool so good — developers told other developers. > In 2016 → 1M users. > In 2019 → 7M users. $500M valuation. > In 2021 → 30M users. $5.6B valuation. > No cold outreach. No sales team. No ads. > Pure product-led growth — before anyone called it that. > Today 98% of Fortune 500 companies use Postman. > Every API in the world — tested, built, documented — runs through something he built over a weekend in 2012. From Kanpur to the global developer stack. Absolute legend.

The Indian Team had self designed jersey for the Thomas Cup 2026 Campaign 🇮🇳🎽 "We designed the Thomas Cup jersey on our own. We printed our own shirts. HS Prannoy came up with the idea that we will wear shirts written Thomas Cup on it which will have one star. We designed two T-shirts - white and black." "We bought it, we sent it for printing, and whatever few T-shirts we were able to sell, we donated the money to charity." - Satwik to India Today in an interview

His name was Pradyumn Thakur. He was 7 years old. Class 2 at Ryan International School in Gurugram, Haryana. His father dropped him at the school gate at 7:55 am on September 8, 2017. At 8:08 am, he was found outside a washroom with his throat slit. He was rushed to hospital and declared dead on arrival. The school did not call the police. His parents did. Haryana Police arrived three and a half hours later. They noticed blood stains on bus conductor Ashok Kumar. The same clothes he wore while carrying a bleeding 7 year old child to a car. On September 10, the Police Commissioner held a press conference. He declared Ashok Kumar was the killer. He said Ashok had tried to sexually assault Pradyumn and murdered him. The Chief Minister of Haryana congratulated the police for solving the case. The Bar Association of Gurugram passed a resolution refusing to let any lawyer defend Ashok Kumar. The Supreme Court later disciplined them for this. Pradyumn’s mother said from day one she believed Ashok was being framed. CBI took over the case. They found no forensic evidence against Ashok Kumar. No evidence of sexual assault. The gardener who was first at the scene said he saw no blood on Ashok before Ashok helped carry the child. The claimed semen sample did not exist. [Source: CBI chargesheet 2018] In November 2017, CBI arrested the real accused. A 16 year old student at the same school. CBI said he confessed to killing Pradyumn to get his exams cancelled. He chose his victim randomly. Ashok Kumar was acquitted of all charges on February 28, 2018. [Source: Child Special Court Gurugram judgment February 28, 2018] In January 2021, CBI charged four Gurugram Police officers with framing Ashok Kumar. Falsifying documents. Torture. Criminal conspiracy. [Source: CBI chargesheet January 2021] Those four officers have not been convicted. The Police Commissioner who declared Ashok guilty on television faced no consequences. The Chief Minister who congratulated police faced no consequences. Pradyumn’s family is still waiting for justice for their son. Follow for stories India deserves to remember.

During construction of the Ganga Expressway, UPEIDA partnered with ETH Zurich, RTDT Laboratories AG, and Kistler Instruments. A test vehicle fitted with seven accelerometers and high-frequency laser sensors drove the road continuously — scanning every metre for micro-defects, flagging them before the surface was sealed. Swiss precision. Indian scale. UP execution. This is the same state where, not long ago, a government was more focused on which criminals to protect than what to build. The contrast isn't subtle. It's 594 kilometres long.

When a computer tracks the Indian classical dancer in this video, it picks up perfect circles, triangles, and curves in every movement. There are exactly 108 of them. All 108 were written into a manual over 2,000 years ago. That manual is the Natya Shastra. Six thousand verses, written somewhere around 200 BCE. It describes 108 specific dance movements for Bharatanatyam, one of the oldest dance forms in India. Each movement spells out three things: where your hands go, what angle your body holds, and the exact path your legs trace. Roughly 150 step combinations grow out of those 108 base movements. A trained dancer spends years learning 70 to 80 of them. Watch the dancer's legs in the video. The bent-knee squat creates a diamond shape. Palms together make a triangle. When researchers plotted these positions in three dimensions this year, they found the moving body carves out twisted spirals and bowl-shaped curves, the kind of shapes you see in an engineering textbook, not a dance studio. Every limb holds a specific angle and moves a measured distance. The rhythm is math too. A 7-beat song gets filled with dance steps of 3 and 4. Scale that to 35 beats and the groups of 3 and 4 repeat five times. Choreographers work out these splits in their heads while performing live. All 108 movements are also carved into the stone walls of a 12th-century temple in Tamil Nadu called Chidambaram, many panels still carrying the original Sanskrit description next to them. A choreography textbook in granite, still legible after 900 years. A 2013 study put 25 people on a walkway rigged with motion-capture cameras. Every human stride has two parts: when your foot is on the ground and when it swings forward. The ratio between those two parts came out to 1.620. The golden ratio is 1.618. Your foot lifts off at 61.8% of every step you take, and it has done this your entire life. A Bharatanatyam dancer takes that same built-in proportion and amplifies it across 108 movements, each one tracing shapes that were set down in writing over 2,000 years before the tracking software in this video existed.

It's past midnight and my phone has been buzzing all day about the "sudden" disruption AI is bringing to software and services. I have been in these two industries for 28+ years, and in AI since I was a student — so "sudden" makes me smile. Here's what I'm seeing: the biggest application, the biggest impact of Generative AI, is software development and routine knowledge work. But this impact is not uniform. Melanie Mitchell wisely called it a "jagged frontier"—AI empowers some people and transforms some domains far more than others. This is due to many reasons, and over the next few days, and at the #IndiaAIImpactSummit I am looking forward to sharing more about all this. So how will we navigate these times, learn to hang ten on these massive waves? @VianaiSystems our view is simple: empower business people with AI to do things that experts did before using professional pre-AI tools. This helps them do in real-time what they did before in slow, costly, complex ways, but go far beyond that and do things that simply couldn't be done before. And in the process save massively in the clean up of legacy. Earlier today we signed our latest customer, one of the world's largest life-sciences companies. They are using hila to transform their reporting, their slow, fragmented, expensive reporting, and replacing it with real-time, conversational, accurate analysis. That's the transformation happening right now. Technology that can leverage AI to translate a business user's intent into precise meaning in software, and reliably run it on real data, is already transforming reporting and analytics, as evidenced by hila's growing adoption. And it stands to go far beyond to transform the entire enterprise IT landscape, and create trillions in new value...
