Training Report: September 3 Sunday Can you ever beat the heat? ☀️🥵 Tough one today. Gym was unexpectedly closed this morning so treadmill not an option. I decided to venture out at 4pm in brutal conditions…not one of my better decisions 😅🤷🏻‍♂️ Ran slow and easy as usual but HR skyrocketed from the beginning. Made the outing a bit shorter than planned. Otherwise feeling ok. Lesson learned✅

Words cannot describe the pain of my first marathon I limped in the last 5 miles. It took every ounce of energy I had. I thought about my mom encouraging me not to give up. “Go sweetie!!” She inspired me to start running. I starting sobbing as soon as I crossed the finish line. I’ve never cried so hard in my life. I was completely drained. Six years later I still get emotional thinking about that race. My eyes well up with tears writing this. Pushing past your limits in running Is such a profound experience It takes you so deep Places inside you didn’t know existed There is raw beauty to the suffering It brings new definition to your life Some people will understand what I’m saying. Some won’t. It’s ok. Just wanted to share

@Vilavaite @RadioGraphics While I appreciate the distinction, I think a case can be made in medicine for the causes of burnout and moral injury to at least overlap. It is unclear from the paper if moral injury is an evolution/worsening of burnout or if you can get to moral injury without burning out.
