Some clarification from Chad Pinder about the Knights’ rotation plans. He says Noah Schultz will piggyback Hagen Smith on Friday’s home opener, and then assume his normal spot in the rotation in Nashville next week. No official Knights’ roster yet but the team took infield practice & among notables I didn’t see are Rikuu Nishida, Ryan Galanie and Caden Connor. I was really hoping to see a lineup with Nishida, Bergolla and Antonacci at the top, though Darren Baker and his career .347 OBP could be fun. @FutureSox @FutureSox

Darren Baker is one of the new additions to the Knights in 2026, and was one of four players made available to media today. He talked a little bit about his relationship with his famous dad, Dusty. Darren was a 10th-round draft pick by the Nationals in 2021, with a career .280 minor-league batting average, along with a .347 obp & 102 stolen bases. @FutureSox

Knights will open with a 5-man rotation, says manager Chad Pinder. Hagan Smith gets the ball on opening day this Friday, followed by Duncan Davitt & Tanner McDougal. Noah Schultz & Jonathan Cannon round out the rotation. No word yet on when we will see David Sandlin in Charlotte. @FutureSox

Yoan was ranked #7 in the preseason of ‘16 & then passed by Benintendi for the preseason of 2017 (Yoan was 2) for MLB Pipeline. BA had him peak at 2 I believe & Fangraphs at 1 in ‘17. Social media has come a long way in 10-11 years. I would say people are just a lot more aware and hyper focused on draft prospects now. Also seems like there are less tertiary concerns with Griffin. - Ian

@FutureSox not sure how many years you go back doing leaguewide work, so maybe im asking the impossible, but what is the difference in your mind on Konnor Griffin, lets say, being called #1 prospect in MLB, vs back when Moncada was dubbed that? Is public eval just way better now?

Jaden Fauske will join Billy Carlson in Single-A Kannapolis to open the year. The top two picks from the White Sox 2025 Draft Class will be joined by a variety of recent college draft picks and others @FutureSox
