@boot15_vu @PeterBleksley And to cap it off, it is a pretty shitty pension anyway. If living wage has to be £12.71 per hour then on full time job that is £508.40 a week. How the f**k are pensioners expected to live on £241.30 a week?

All this poisonous generational division has been deliberately stirred up by governments of every stripe. I wouldn’t trust any of them to run a tuck shop, never mind a national pension system. Whatever they scrap or “replace” it with will simply be dressed up in fresh jargon and more empty promises. Mark my words: in a generation’s time that money will quietly fund the next political grift, and today’s loudest critics of pensioners will be getting exactly the same abuse from the next wave of young workers. Round and round we go — unless we finally insist on real structural reform that actually breaks the cycle. Direct your ire at the government who has betrayed you. Again! #StatePension

@boot15_vu Thanks for posting your comments, I was talking about the robbing of 'the pension pot' on here and got told i'm talking rubbish and that there's never been such a thing. I remember my parents and Grandparents talking about it too.

🚨The state pension & triple lock is the hot topic of the day — but almost no one is discussing what actually happened and why we’re in this mess. Instead, governments are dividing older and younger generations with perverse gaslighting. Here’s the truth: National Insurance was explicitly sold for generations as a contributory scheme. You paid your “stamps” to build entitlement to your state pension — exactly like road tax was introduced and meant to fund the Road Fund for building and maintaining roads. Both started with a clear promise: pay in for a specific purpose. Then governments quietly broke the ring-fencing/promise. Road hypothecation ended in 1937. NI became mostly pay-as-you-go — today’s workers funding today’s pensioners, with surpluses spent on the priorities of the day (NHS, welfare, whatever suited the government). Why are we here now? • Collapsing birth rates since the 1960s + longer lifespans. • Mass immigration that failed to fix the worker-to-retiree ratio as promised. • Decades of political short-termism: treating the National Insurance Fund like a slush fund instead of properly ring-fencing or investing it for the future. See Singapore for the gold standard. Now the gaslighting ramps up: “No one paid into a pot.” “It’s just a transfer from poorer young to wealthier old.” “The triple lock is unaffordable.” This is classic deception by government. They collected contributions under one set of expectations, spent the money elsewhere, then rebranded the promise when demographics caught up. Pensioners who worked 40-50 years and upheld their side of the intergenerational contract are suddenly the villains. It’s perverse. Instead of admitting “we broke the funding model,” politicians pit generations against each other. The young aren’t subsidising the old out of nowhere — they’re paying into the same broken system their elders did. Honour the existing promises to those who already paid in. Cut the real waste first (illegal migration costs, foreign aid, Net Zero subsidies, welfare bloat). Then reform properly for the future: move towards individual accounts with actual investment and returns — like Singapore’s CPF. Stop the divisive nonsense. Fix the root causes instead of rewriting history and turning the country against itself. Feel free to engage👇🏽 #TripleLock #StatePension

@BlorpFurble @80s_Kidz @billett_mark The city I came from didn't reek of cigarettes and have ringpulls everywhere, nor was it grey and drab. I can't say the same now, with the sterile market square, chewing gum all over the pavements, half a shopping centre demolished and the other centre ruined, I used to love it!

@80s_Kidz @billett_mark Everyone says this was the best time ever to live. I was there in my twenties and I loved it. But there were drawbacks. Everything everywhere stunk of cigarettes. Cigarette butts and ring pull tabs littered the ground everywhere. Cities were grey, drab places compared to today.

@RachelT1722 @juneslater17 @CarolPringle15 @miriam_cates That's not the pensioners fault though is it, who keeps hiking the house prices up? If you were told you were going to retire and then the rug was pulled away, you'd be annoyed too. Seems to be a lot of this pitting elderly and young people against eachother lately. 🤔

@RWTaylors They were promoting the EU in my 2 sons junior school years ago, giving out keyrings etc to the children. They're young adults now 26 and 27 yrs old, I wondered about it at the time, as I thought that stuff wasn't meant to be promoted in schools.

This is his only hope of staying as PM! He will take us lock, stock and barrel back into the EU. I've been saying it for over a year! Latest figures and polling show there is a huge appetite for it. The resons are simple, Brexit was NEVER completely delivered. About 63% would vote to rejoin vs 37% stay out (YouGov, 2026) Around 55–56% support rejoining in other large polls (2025) Among young people (16–24): ~83% would vote to rejoin.

@wtfnub @GriftReport @z_chrissie They get told they look beautiful by all the sycophants and general hangers on though, so I doubt that will happen. I think she used to be naturally pretty until she started having work done, it's sad really, the industry she's in doesn't help either.

Jill Dando was going to speak out about a huge trafficking ring within the BBC and the Establishment. She knew how filthy and evil the corporation was, she knew the BBC covered up for the likes of Jimmy Saville, Rolf Harris and Stuart Hall, and MI5 took her out as they didn't want to be exposed. Jill had the goods on many of them, so they had to move in quick and murderer her. The BBC should be taken down and arrests should be made. The BBC is a cesspool of swamp creatures who are involved in murdering, rape, torture of innocent children. Jill Dando wanted to save the children, like many others. But if you spoke out against the establishment and try to expose them, you get disposed of. Never forget Jill Dando.
