On pce you almost always get one or two power ups on respawn. The mouths are also very doable to me so haven't died often there i think? Will try it on purpose next chance i get :)

That said a few months ago I went through Half-Life 1, 2, and the episodes, and started off with a controller, but ended up moving back to mouse/kb because of the speed and and needing to get my sights on the target quicker.
