@baylisswagner @SouthernMomOG Democrats are “far left” in Texas? I am a Texas Democrat. Our nominee for Texas senator is a Christian minister that believes in following Jesus’s teachings. She needs to turn off Fox “News”

Moderate Republicans in Texas are going through it tonight. A Texas GOP staffer texted me, “As a moderate Republican, I have no place in this party anymore.” “There is no middle ground. No room for moderates. Only far right or far left.”

Attention #Texas: #KenPaxton cannot win the general election this November. Hold your collective noses and vote for #JohnCornyn. I know he is a moderate, but he has become very powerful in the #Senate. He supports conservative values and votes accordingly. Keep Texas red.

By 1900, the United States had achieved a 90% literacy rate largely by using McGuffey Readers in one-room schoolhouses.  But, yeah, NYC’s problem is it’s not spending enough money.

Daily Mail: Vance's alleged opposition to the Iran War has led to his isolation in the WH. Rubio's star is ascendant, and Vance is considering not running in '28, as he apparently believes he cannot run on DJT's disastrous record. (A wise choice b/c the Dem will win in '28)

It's the 20th Anniversary of Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth." NONE of his scary predictions have come true. Mt. Kilimanjaro still has snow and Glacier National Park still has glaciers. Here's why we are not doomed:

You want to tell me Ted Cruz is a Rino I will laugh in your face. And unlike the people on here who produce agit prop for clicks I produce the receipts. First Impeachment (2019): Voted to acquit. Defended Trump throughout. January 6, 2021: Cruz was one of the senators who moved to block certification of the 2020 election results. After the riot, he called it “a violent terrorist attack on the Capitol” BUT then as more information came out he went on Tucker Carlson’s show and apologized, calling his own language “sloppy and frankly dumb.” Second Impeachment: Voted to acquit, arguing Trump’s speech was not impeachable and that the trial was Democrats venting hatred rather than seeking justice. He agrees with Trump on some things and disagrees with him on others. Voted for the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Voted for the 2025 One Big Beautiful Bill: No Tax on Tips, Trump Accounts, elimination of CAFE standards, natural gas tax repeal. Filibustered every gun control bill that reached the Senate floor. Voted against the 2022 bipartisan background check bill after Uvalde. Voted against the 2013 Manchin-Toomey background check expansion after Sandy Hook. Argued and won D.C. v. Heller before the Supreme Court established the 2nd Amendment as an individual right. Championed confirming over 230 federal judges during Trump’s first term. Voted to confirm every Trump nominee. Voted against every pathway to citizenship bill including the Gang of Eight comprehensive immigration reform. Read that one again. Opposed DACA legislatively. Voted against the 2024 bipartisan border deal, calling it insufficient. Championed border wall funding. Voted against Obamacare. Led the effort to defund it. Voted against every major climate legislation bill Green New Deal, Inflation Reduction Act. Championed domestic oil and gas deregulation consistently. Constitutional originalism is his defining cause. He argued before the Supreme Court, fought for conservative judges relentlessly. And he supports Israel so he’s a threat to every single person who wants to change the constitution on the right or left. Throwing around words like Rino when you don’t clearly know what they mean makes you an ignorant leftist.

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME A US PRESIDENT ACCEPTED A DEAL — AND THEN HAD TO CALL ONE MORE ALLY TO FIND OUT IF IT WOULD HAPPEN? Think about that. Iran said yes. Trump said yes. The Gulf said yes. All before the Netanyahu call. The last time something like this happened, the answer on that final call determined whether a war started or stopped. This is not routine ally consultation. This is a live test of who holds the actual veto. The sequence matters. Iran sent a counter-proposal. Trump accepted. His administration accepted. Gulf countries — the ones with the most to lose from a closed Strait of Hormuz — were called, consulted, and satisfied. Every actor in the chain gave their answer first. Then the Netanyahu call happened. What does it mean when the final call is the one that determines whether the deal moves or dies? The tweet that surfaced this sequence ended with a conditional: "If Trump does not accept the deal, then it's clear who is calling the shots." That is not commentary. That is a live diagnostic. Running right now. Earlier this month Trump called an Iranian proposal "totally unacceptable." On May 18 he paused planned strikes after a new offer and said there was a "very good chance" of a deal. The Gulf states are satisfied. The administration is satisfied. The one variable still unresolved is the Netanyahu call. This is the moment. Right now. Pay attention. Follow and turn on notifications before it's too late.

Virtually the entire upper echelon of the Iranian military and government were killed in this war, and over 6,000 Iranian military personnel were killed alongside them. Almost the entire Iranian navy has been sunk, and over 200 ballistic missile launchers were destroyed, to say nothing of the infrastructure damage and economic losses that have now befallen the country. Iran's entire economy is imploding. Inflation is over 100%, food and housing shortages are popping up across the country, the unemployment rate for 18-to 40-year-old men is around 50%, and no one knows whether the nation's new Supreme Leader is even alive. You can easily argue that none of this was worth a war in the first place. I've certainly made that argument myself. I still don't think this conflict was worth it. But in what possible way could anyone seriously argue with a straight face that Iran is stronger today than it was in January? Have some damn perspective. You can oppose a conflict without inventing fantasies about how that conflict has played out.
George Boctor@MrGeorgeBoctor

@ChristianHeiens Trump promised; total surrender, support for Iranian protesters, victory. Instead Iran still has uranium, missiles, IRGC, leverage on the strait, sanctions relief 25B$ per NYT. Iran ends war stronger than before! What was the war for, and what were 13 servicemen sacrificed for?

There's no question if you said this about Judaism or Jewish people, @HBO would've fired you. No one can dispute that. But hatred towards Muslims is considered completely acceptable by mainstream media. They love @BillMaher's bigotry. In fact, they pay him millions to spread it.
☀️👀@zei_squirrel

Bill Maher is a rabid Islamophobic racist who has spewed the most depraved bile imaginable against Muslims for years. If Hasan or anyone else said about Jews what he says about Muslims, Slotkin and the rest of the media and political class would end their life in a second

You can't tax rich people on unrealized gains from stocks because "it's not real money until it's sold." So explain to me why my property taxes keep going up based on the unrealized value of my house? I didn't sell it. I didn't cash out. I didn't make a profit. But somehow I'm paying taxes on paper gains every single year. Interesting how "unrealized gains" only become a problem when wealthy folks are involved.

another week, another village in Nigeria massacred and slaughtered by Islamists. And as always, the world is silent. No word from the Pope. No word from the UN. Nothing from France. UK. Italy. Spain. Anyone. Just silence. So weird.
