@dublin_damo Mushy peas remind me of my childhood when we had them every Sunday. They had to be soaked overnight with a tablet, I remember somethings my mother forgot and they were like bullets.

The lack of grief over this post is frankly disappointing, normally, there'd be at least 10 replies about ramekins or micro pots, 7 about mushy peas being 'English', and another 10 about wine and notions 😂.

Division between the locals & 'blow ins' in commuter towns like Wicklow is funny, and complex. You could be born in Wicklow, have the accent, but you're parents are Dubs, so you're a blow in, whereas I left the town 30 years ago, but am a bona fide local 😂.

@dublin_damo I think people generally over estimate how dangerous Dublin is and how safe other places are because as foreigners we cant read the landscape abroad, statisically Vietnam has a murder rate seversl times that of Ireland, but anyway enjoy the rest of your holliers

Beachfront area of Da Nang is very digital nomady, but walk a couple of miles, and it's much more edgy. Have never felt unsafe here though, probably more dangerous where I live in Dublin!

Some of you may recall that last year we bought the rental house we’ve lived in for 17 yrs. One of the things we most disliked about the house was the chunky pine fireplace. A friend gave us her unwanted fire surround, we finished painting it this week. So much more our personal taste. Can’t wait to decorate for Christmas today!
