@TheWarOwl Why don’t they test things first? Run some sort of beta test client. Every time they just randomly drop one of these stupid updates they’re met with insane backlash for years now. Because they don’t see how their updates look in the hands of the general player base.
CS2 just dramatically changed the game with the ammo reload update. You now have reserve magazines instead of reserve ammo.
The MP9 has 2 reserve magazines, meaning you can reload the MP9 twice a round. Twice TOTAL.
The bad habit of reloading every time you shoot is now a REALLY bad habit.
This changes weapon balance. The M4A1-s with 3 reserve mags is now comparatively worse than it was before the update, as the M4A4 has 4 reserve magazines and 10 extra rounds a mag. The USP-s and MP9 in particular are other weapons that I think get nerfed hard.
Having to think about how many mags you have and if you should reload adds additional complexity to the game, it's another system you have to keep in mind. I imagine pro players will be counting reloads. If you hear a M4A1-s reload twice, you know they probably won't spray through a smoke.
Spamming smokes and wallbangs are now a much bigger investment, as is preshooting when you turn the corner. This is the one way I think this update will negatively impact the gameplay, but overall I'm not instantly negative towards the update.
I'm going to play more games, give it a chance, and see how I think about it.
@reddit_lies I almost feel bad for these people because in a sane world they would be sent to a mental hospital rather than a doctor saying “yes I’ll mutilate your body and ruin your life!”
CS:GO is back on Steam!
This is real, I did not make this up.
The Global Offensive legacy branch now has it's own appid and steam page, though it is unlisted. You can access it to add to your Steam account here: store.steampowered.com/app/4465480/Co…
CS:GO is not supported by Valve, so they are not hosting servers, there will be no additional updates, and the community server browser is not working. This is the version of Global Offensive that existed at the time CS2 was launched, a forever shadow.
The only way to join games is to manually enter the connect command in the dev console (or other such plugin externally that does the same thing)
This is great as a long term solution to preserving the game. There are still communities of players who regularly play CS:GO as an alternative to CS2. Certainly, CS1.6 and Source still have their communities, so why should CS:GO be thrown into the dustbin?
This should have been done in the first place, and would have shown a lot of good will towards the people who love this game.
Will be interesting to see how many pros switch over to Logitech's new mouse and how quickly it is adopted, because this new haptic click feature actually seems like it will have a noticeable impact
