It’s 1982 and the late great BOB HOSKINS takes Barry Norman along London’s South Bank and makes clear his feelings about the avaricious property developers who were about to swallow whole almost the entire area. I miss Bob.

@theSNP This is the equivalent of having a leaky roof and capping the price of buckets, it does nothing to solve the root cause of the problem.

A re-elected SNP government will put a price cap on a basket of essential foods in large supermarkets, so families can afford the essentials and no one is priced out of a balanced diet. Make it #BothVotesSNP on May 7 for a government that’s on your side.

@JohnSwinney What will that do to farmers facing rising costs themselves? Farmers are not exactly rolling in cash, and many do struggle to turn any kind of profit. Is there assurances that Scottish farmers will not have to bare the cost of this policy?

We will cap prices for essential food items, and cap all bus fares at £2. We will further improve our NHS, with more GP walk-in centres across Scotland. And we will bring hope with the fresh start of independence. The SNP is on Scotland’s side 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 snp.org/manifesto

It is disheartening to see the ongoing state of dereliction of Golfhill Primary School in Dennistoun. Despite planning permission being granted in 2024 for the development of 18 much needed flats, there has been no evident progress on this conversion. I will continue to push Spectrum Properties to restore this iconic building and bring it back into use for the benefit of the community.

The truth is demand for a slot on soccer am would be much higher now than it was back them. I could imagine every woman with a OF page, (which I am willing to bet they are both absolutely fine with) would want to be on therefor the exposure. We live in an weird world now, that some folk think the women that went on Soccer AM or In the pit lane at a formula one is exploiting women, but getting naked and doing extremely graphic things for money online is empowering them.

@getstuffedtwit @NotFarLeftAtAll I bet you still want free education though. Let me ask you a question. If there's kids living in their parents homes and the homes are worth over a million. Should the parents sell those homes to pay for their kids university tuition or should university places be free of charge?

@NotFarLeftAtAll Given that the young people are paying for the triple lock they have every right to have a say. I'm currently paying for the pensioners triple lock and I'd see it scrapped tomorrow.

Ben Leo clashes with Reem Ibrahim after the GB News guest called to scrap the pension triple lock to use the money to help young Brits She wants your Parents to sell their home to fund their own pension. I wonder if she’d still think the same if her parents had to sell theirs.

It's not homophobic, it's a gay based joke, you could say it's in bad taste but it's not homophobic. Its no worse than an edgy stand up comic would say. I would stake my soul on it there will be employees at the National who have told jokes like this down the pub and it wouldn't bother me in the slightest it's just and edgy joke. Remember National, there's always a Tweet.

NEW: We are publishing the disgusting homophobic joke Malcolm Offord told and had to apologise for. It is in the public interest that people know the abhorrent language the Reform UK Scotland leader chose to use Refusing to publish this would effectively be protecting him.

111 Union Street should be replaced by a larger and grander building that meets the roofline of its neighbour. It should be built in a Glaswegian Victorian style. It’s possible, despite what weirdo architects and the developer lobby will tell us.

That sounds like an admission arts, media and literature are dead end courses. If you are rich you can probably afford to attend a dead end course. If you're from a less well off back ground it would make infinitely more sense to study for degrees that pay well. It would secure a better long term future.

- This will mean that rich kids can study arts, media, literature to their heart's content, but people from ordinary families will be unable to afford it. - Freedom to choose for the wealthy only. - That's definitely a 'two tier' policy. Classic Toryism.

The High Court has confirmed what we all knew: proscribing Palestine Action was unlawful. The state must stop using “counter-terror” powers to criminalise solidarity and intimidate working-class people out of protest. The Labour government must lift the proscription now and drop every case NOW. We will not stop until Palestine is free, from the river to the sea 🇵🇸✊🏽

Last night scum stole the statue of my Grandfather Teddy Baldock Britain's youngest ever World Boxing Champion. The statue was unveiled outside the Langdon Park DLR Station in Poplar, East London. Years of work and a stunning work of art by the sculptor, the late Carl Payne will be sold for scrap and melted down. Please retweet in case we can recover it.
