@maxdubler The owner of the illegal office space is no doubt profiting nicely. And they must have connections. They live in Peskin’s district and one of the many month delays was them trying to work with Peskin’s office to change the law. That failed last fall, but illegal use continues.

@maxdubler It hasn’t changed. The block I live on has a garage (zoned residential/retail) that was illegally converted to a luxury office space for a VC firm. Planning has not forced the illegal use to stop. They’ve spent years delaying enforcement while trying to find a loophole.

I’ve been following planning for awhile because we have a garage on our block (zoned for housing) illegally converted to a lux office for a VC firm. Land use committee (Preston, Peskin, and Melgar) have turned a blind eye.
