Something doesn’t add up… Before the war started, everyone I spoke to agreed the U.S. Navy (which is more capable than the rest of the world combined) CANNOT open the Strait of Hormuz militarily And everyone also confirmed what Iran warned: They will and can close the Strait of Hormuz if attacked Both pro-U.S. and pro-Iran analysts and military veterans agreed on both points So why the hell did Trump, who SHOULD have access to the world’s most capable intelligence and most experienced advisors, decide to enter this war? What am I missing??

Agreed, but your analogy to me at least, still does not work. You cannot basically destroy an entire county which US and Israel did and then if that country does not accept your proposal to end it then becomes the aggressor. That's simply not how things work. If Ukraine for example does not want to accept Russian proposal to end it (even though they should IMO), does not make them aggressors. It's like I'm pushing someone off a flight of stairs and once they're down with 3 broken ribs if they don't accept my apologies they are the aggressors..... That's ridiculous

You need to read all my tweets, not just pick and choose. This one is simple: If Trump, the aggressor in this war, offers to end the war and allows Iran their concessions , and they decide to not accept and keep striking the gulf, than they become the aggressor and not only a victim But this does not mean I don’t still believe this is an unnecessary and stupid war that should have never happened

If the Iranian regime does not accept Trump’s off-ramp, they shift from being the victim to becoming the aggressor

Strategically speaking very hard for Iran to accept anything coming from US and Israel. They basically get nothing in return just unconditional surrender and no guarantee that next year this won't happen again. I think the way they see the situation this is existential and surrendering is basically equivalent to their destruction as a nation.

if donald trump wasn’t currently the president, but whoever was president was performing exactly like he was, donald trump and trump supporters would be incessantly raging about how poorly the president was performing

Like Trump, I got gassed up by the neocons and Big Tech’s promises. They were either lying or unable to deliver. Iran is far more formidable than we were briefed on. In any case, the enlistment age is now 42. Have you asked your favorite podcaster if they are signing up?

They aren’t even pretending not to insider trade anymore.
Bark@barkmeta

Let me explain what just happened 👇 5 minutes before the President announced a halt to attacks on Iran… someone placed a $1.5 BILLION bet on stocks going up and dumped $192 million in oil. 5 minutes… These trades were 4 to 6 times larger than anything else in the entire market. Whoever did this wasn’t guessing. You don’t risk $1.5 billion on a hunch. There was zero public indication this announcement was coming. No leaks. No press. Nothing. The only people who knew were in the room when the decision was made. Someone in that room picked up a phone. And within minutes they made more money than most Americans will earn in a thousand lifetimes. In a single trade. On a war that cost you $4+ a gallon gas and $16 billion in tax dollars. American citizens funded this war. Politicians are profiting from it. This is not the first time. Every major announcement from this administration has had massive suspicious trades right before it dropped. Tariff reversals. Policy shifts. War decisions. This is the most blatant insider trading operation in the history of American politics. It’s not even close. And it’s happening over and over in broad daylight. You would go to federal prison for trading on a tip from your cousin. These people are front running war decisions with billion dollar bets and nobody will ever ask a single question. Nobody will be investigated. Nobody will be charged. By tomorrow this will be buried under the next satisfying headline. Just like last time. And the time before that. The game is rigged. And they’re not even trying to hide it anymore…

@NancyMace Why did you vote against the war power resolution. If really wanted to have a say in this and in the lives of the young ones sent to the meat grinder you surely did not vote accordingly.
