The reality is that bike lanes in Indy are hardly ever used. Given limited pedestrian and bicycle volumes in the area, other solutions would probably work better, like a Carmel style eight foot multi-use path replacing a sidewalk on one side of the street. Could probably find a way to squeeze something like that in. Bicyclists could use that along with pedestrians.

Since we are discussing bike lanes today. Wtf is this on the newly paved section of Riverview Dr? A partial bike lane at each intersection? We don’t care enough to give you a full bike lane but stay out of the way of drivers at the intersection. Whatever, I’m taking the lane.

all this does is make everyone angry. people on bikes are mad because this isn't infrastructure, people in cars are mad because people in bikes are either weaving in and out of traffic or taking the lane and not using the "perfectly good bike lane right there"

Indianapolis just going through the motions as usual. God forbid we anger three businesses by taking a few parking spots. Sharrows is not a compromise. Don’t even waste the paint. They are useless.
