@griptmedia Eventually Ireland will have equivalences of GB news and Fox news, as a large % of peoples views are not being heard.

NIAMH UÍ BHRIAIN: For the record and speaking plainly: it will never, ever be the case that a Cabinet Minister, or a regulatory body funded by the state, will dictate how Gript Media reports on fuel protests or on any other matter. gript.ie/ui-bhriain-no-…

Walking into Tesco and other supermarkets and the Easter egg aisle is a total clearance graveyard. Massive walls of unsold chocolate eggs slashed to clear, most of them stuffed with palm oil and ultra-processed junk. Thousands left behind after Easter, now desperately discounted to shift the stock. Shoppers are walking straight past them, saying they’ve gone right off Easter eggs because of the waste and dodgy ingredients. Palm oil overload has killed the whole thing. Bring back real chocolate!

Thomas Byrne has done a damn lot more for people in Meath than Peadar Tóibín. Non Fianna Fáil voters consistently vote for Thomas too. That tells you all you need to know!
Niall Boylan@Niall_Boylan

I’ll tell you who @Toibin1 is. He’s a politician who cares about his constituents and fights with them, not against them. @ThomasByrneTD, you need to realise you work for the people and not for yourself. This protest has highlighted the incompetence of the leadership, and if you can’t see that, I pity your constituents.

When the Taoiseach says during the week "that the vast majority of the public do not support these protests" and a reputable opinion poll the following weekend shows 56% support for protests, Government might want to consider whether their legion of advisors are worth the cash.

Back in the day, this would have collapsed a government. They don't work for the people anymore. They work for the elite, unelected bureaucrats, and billionaires. Back in the day, the opposition would have been calling for that collapse, but now they work for that same elite.

@JimmystaffordDJ @davidmcw All projects are 'low balled' to ensure approval and sign off. Then you just spend whats required. Contracts tend to be profit plus all costs re-embursed.

This is a must read from @davidmcw “Is Ireland the worst run country in Europe?” The figures in this article are mind blowing . No accountability in the Senior echelons of Public Service. No wonder people are angry. #fuelprotests

@darraghmcdonagh @gardainfo So you are planning to put some drunk frustrated women/man who can't pay their bills in jail like Harris are you. Fuck off. Unlikely to be any serious threat, maybe not even from Ireland, but hey lets play the lefty victim card.

I gave a statement to @gardainfo today regarding threats made against my family. While intimidation of journalists isn't brilliant for democracy and I'm happy to sustain an abundance of personal abuse, a line has to be drawn when someone's family is targeted.

@IrishTimesOpEd Private sector and business makes money, public sector and politicians just piss it all away. The amount of billions that have been wasted since about 2015 (post crash) is sickening, and it is all due to politicians.

It’s almost like the Government want this protest to escalate across the whole country. This is not just about farmers and fuel anymore, it’s about a complete lack of competence, compassion and understanding Irish politicians have for the people of Ireland. They will refuse to help the Irish people while giving away billions around Europe and the world.
TheJournal Politics@TJ_Politics

Donal Byrne and John Dallon said they expected to be in today’s netting. They say now the protests will continue.

One of the (many) reasons why Ireland is now at crisis point is people like Eamon Ryan were left in charge of key energy policy. Ryan refused leases for the Barryroe oil & gas field in 2023. Now we depend on imports for 82% of our gas and 100% oil. We can't go on like this.
