@DaleJohnsonBBC You haven't, you said beyond the tolerance level.
The example above is MUCH tighter than Wirtz' which would mean this would definitely be Onside not offside.
I've written many times about the tolerance level in the VAR offside tech many times in the 4 and a half years it's been in place.
It applies to Florian Wirtz's goal for Liverpool against Fulham. #FULLIV
For instance: bbc.co.uk/sport/football…
@UpTheVilla_AVFC@DaleJohnsonBBC You are talking waffle, if you'd read the thread you wouldn't have asked this question. Or you did and you don't understand it so what the points in explaining
@PUFC7@DaleJohnsonBBC The tech works perfectly, we just use it wrong. Offside is supposed to be back and white, on or off, linesman and officials now have no control over it when a goal is scored. In this country like we did with VAR we do our own thing and add in an extra grey area. It's not the tech
@RichardF1990@GaryBri99293774@DaleJohnsonBBC This exactly, this is all on the tolerances hes laid out in the OP. The premier league have taken a black and white decision, offside, out of the officials hands and then added in a grey area. Not explained it to anyone and made these calls now look rediculous. Liner can do nowt
@GaryBri99293774@DaleJohnsonBBC Offsides don’t fall under clear and obvious so the linesmen’s decision is completely meaningless when a goal is scored.
@hogspur@stokecity Most talented player in our squad is yours and he plays centre half. Every week for us. We play your lad at centre half where we have loads of options, so maybe we have to think he's either not as good as your making out. Or he's a knob behind the scenes.
@spurscc@stokecity If he's as amazing as these guys are making out why was he even on loan? And surely we would have played him. Something doesn't add up these lads are making out like he's Messi. Phillips gets picked and we have loads of options at centre half.
@itsJohnRocker It is when it spent years meddling in regimes, installing shitty leaders, blowing places up for oil. You can't fuck about everywhere, create chaos & then wash your hands. We all wish the US would fuck off and deal with its own inbred red kneck nation. Just clean up your mess 1st
I don’t want to fight w people on the internet on Father’s Day. (Happy Father’s Day everyone) but my thoughts on Rory.
I’ve always respected and liked Rory. He always spoke his mind even when he knew he get shit for it. As a fan, it’s all I want from athletes.
But I’m not sure what has happened. Last night I looked for any article from a reputable golf media outlet that was unfair to Rory. There just isn’t any. Online trolls? Plenty of those. But not from the people he told he was frustrated with yesterday.
I’d argue Rory has gotten more than fair treatment from the media. I think most of who believe he got screwed by the Tour.
I’m honestly not sure what he’s mad about. If I was there I’d ask him to point out a specific few articles he thought were unfair.
The driver? As many people have pointed out, he should be mad at the person who leaked it.
I’m honestly not sure why he is mad and because of his place in the game his anger towards the media is, in my opinion, is indefensible.
When things were good and all the articles were championing him he didn’t complain.
And most of the criticism i see now is mainly about his anger towards the media, something he has started himself by refusing to speak w the media and then directing his anger towards them for doing their job.
I went into A+E on Monday for a dogey looking knee after waiting 4 hrs I was told it would be at least another 4. This was after going to the doctors that morning. In the end I left and googled the symptoms. Rest, ice and pain killers.
You need to see it to believe it.
It's going collapse at some point.
NHS - WHAT? Children are being refused NHS treatment for serious conditions because they attend private schools?
This is sickening, it surely can’t be legal? Tax payers fund the NHS & it is free for ALL at the point of need.
At lest that’s what it was.
Golf acquaintance just told me that when he wears a hoodie on the golf course, he never has a collared shirt under the hoodie. Just a t-shirt.
He said the hoodies he wears fit “tight” around the neck and you can’t tell what he is wearing under the hoodie.
He said while he’s not wearing a collared shirt it doesn’t matter, because you can’t tell anyway.
Thoughts?
@grok@SimonRochwerg@OlenaRohoza It also lacks direct evidence Bidens got millions and more millions from Ukraine. (Except the evidence is on tape) BUT let me ask you? Was Biden playing the Ukrainian in a quid pro qou when he was VP
@Serfdom78@donmcgowan@hall_2024@Conservatives What does that tell you? If the video is indefensible, why would they try & defend themselves? Either the video doesn't show everything or they are going loose monumentally in court and get worse sentences than if they pled guilty.
Triggered by something that hasn't happened
Last night, I replied to a post from the leader of the @Conservatives, Kemi Badenoch.
It was regarding her remarks about Lucy Connelly and why she thought that her refusal of a Release on Temporary Licence was incorrect.
It sparked some serious backlash from those on the right that seem to think she was locked up for 'hurty words' — that ludicrous phrase again.
With the limited time available to me before I had to sleep, I responded to many comments but thought, perhaps, I would write it here to make things clearer for those that need it.
This was treated as a Class A offence — the most serious:
“In relation to your culpability, this is clearly a category A case – as both prosecution and your counsel agree, because you intended to incite serious violence.”
That quote is from the judge in his sentencing remarks. It shows that, when Connelly pleaded guilty, even her own defence conceded that this was of the utmost seriousness.
She admitted to this offence, remember. And, further notes in the sentencing remarks say that she made jokes about her post on a WhatsApp group to say that:
“raging tweet about burning down hotels has bit me on the arse lol”
That make things a bit clearer, right? She thought it was funny to suggest that people burn down hotels with asylum seekers in it.
The other piece of this picture that folk aren't understanding is the case of Ricky Jones, the Labour councillor from Dartford.
You cannot conflate the two cases. Lucy Connelly pleaded guilty and was tried and sentenced under the sentencing guidelines for her offence — a gravely serious one.
Ricky Jones' remarks were, in my opinion, on a similar level, and he will be tried for them in August.
But … he didn't enter a guilty plea; hence a trial. Anyone can plead not guilty to a crime they are charged with, even the most heinous of crimes. That is the law, and then they are entitled to a fair trial.
That's why he's not in jail. It's quite straightforward.
Toby Young and Allison Pearson would have us believe that there has been a miscarriage of justice — there has not.
Now we have the leader of His Majesty's Opposition questioning the validity of the case, for what? To score a few cheap culture war points. I find that both gross and very sinister — she is deliberately undermining the rule of law.
There is a cottage industry springing up around the far-right when they are found guilty of their crimes. See Yaxley-Lemon for example. He has many followers that don't believe he did anything wrong.
Take a step back. Not everything is a conspiracy. Sometimes, bad people do bad things. When they're locked up for their crimes, be grateful that our justice system occasionally functions properly.
NB. I am, in no way, a lawyer, but this stuff feels less complicated than it is being made out to be.
Read the sentencing remarks for yourself:

@Serfdom78@donmcgowan@hall_2024@Conservatives Not really, it's a trial, need to have courts, judges, juries, time for the CPS to build a case, for the defence to do the same. You plead guilty it's over very quickly!
You have an American flag in your handle and question the speed of high profile British cases.
