You can't own an EV without a home charger. FULL STOP.
Public charging is a rip off which negates the point of having one.
Dealers need to be more transparent about this before they take your money.
@AndyRFCCharman@modernheroestv@SimonMcCoyTV I had plenty of ICE cars with ACC that braked. Also proper EVs like Renaults tell you on the dash when the brakes are being applied regardless of if it’s you or the car applying them.
@modernheroestv@SimonMcCoyTV I don’t believe adaptive cruise control applies the brakes every time it adjusts. The first thing it does is reduce power to the engine, just as a driver in a car without adaptive cruise control might do.
Have noticed a lot more random braking on motorways lately. It’s dangerous and causes others to brake. Is it because drivers of electric vehicles using regenerative braking don’t realise their brakes lights come on when they take their foot off the accelerator? Just a thought….
@AndyRFCCharman@modernheroestv@SimonMcCoyTV It isn't ACC adjusting, it is where it has missinterpreted the road and thinks something has appeared in front of it and it's slowing down (or in some instances for myself, doing a flipping emergency stop!)
@jamestitcomb regarding your article about EV customers being overcharged, there’s no mention of the possibility it’s due to unavoidable inverter losses. Now who should pay for those is another question. On AC, I say the driver, but DC we don’t control.
@ShellStationsUK all the AC chargers at Waitrose Welwyn garden city are offline. Why can’t I report in app? One affected charger is GB*TNM*EGL44*SATURN*22*012*2
Renault are going to be continuing their winning streak next month with the launch of the new Twingo! (Let’s ignore the fugly new Clio for now). Sub-£17k EV city car, super cool retro Mk1 Twingo styling. This is going to be bloody brilliant!
I officially have a new favourite audio brand the @DEVIALET@DevialetUK Gemini II are phenomenal. The demo of Phantom I, blew me away, almost literally. So powerful and detailed. Mania next. I’ll work my way up the range!
@Fastned - from HERO to ZERO. The app/debit card situation is unacceptable. Also putting chargers on car parks that issue fines is STUPID. Yes I put the reg in system - why haven’t you asked for an exemption for an hour or two (Haydock). Until you sort both these, I’m out.
@matwatsoncars@PolestarCars how do you feel about this misinformation? Sooner the better Carwow goes bust, pointless business no help in buying my latest car.
@renault_uk@renaultgroup there should be a plush toy of #Reno avatar in the #originals store. I’d love him sat in my car with me. Give him a cheeky wink and pose able arms too. I’m thinking of getting sewing machine out to create one!
It’s a seriously impressive little car. I’ve never driven something of its size that’s so comfortable and road compliant. Must be the Renaultsport DNA! Everything you touch feels well made and logical, and there’s even a single button that turns off all the annoying driver aids.
Where do I begin? This week has been a very special one for me. I remember writing an article years ago about ‘Renaulution’ and Renault’s plan to reinvent the brand. They teased a multitude of new cars, including the return of the iconic Renault 5.

@sainsburys I can’t find on your website where to report an issue. My local store (London Colney) WiFi is down. This makes SmartShop hard as there is no signal in store.
@KiwiEV He’s like a low budget Jeremy Clarkson. Trying to be edgy and his ‘reviews’ are really just opinion pieces. I wonder if we could see how his company is funded. Fossil fuel backed perhaps.
@newt7215 VW connect offered a defrost module to allow the preheater of a diesel golf to be operated from app. It was a cellular add on to their ODB dongle. It was £499 but I couldn’t find a VW dealer to fit one on my 2011 golf in 2017 so gave up. Glad to be in Mégane etech now.
Pure ICe car owners in UK (not hybrids) :
Can your car do ALL this:
Remote -via app- preheat or cool the cabin to any temp and defrost the screens/mirrors.
Turn on heated seats and steering wheel.
Please let me know what car and age.
Does it start the engine up so the car is running unattended if so?
Genuinely curious as I’ve never seen one personally.
(Seen some that can do bits of this functionality like electric screen element defrost or the like and some with aftermarket remote engine start).
I say not Phev hybrids as I know they can)
