@El_Loco_Jo Similar thing happened to me, booked ages before at a local pub, staff (who were deeply embarrassed) said the manger didn’t think y”I would show so gave your table away (to his mates who he was drinking with!). Not been there since and glad to see it’s shutting early some nights.

Why are some people absolute arseholes?! I rarely go out, but at the beginning of November, I booked a table to take two of my closest friends for a meal on 16th Dec as their Christmas presents instead of buying stuff they don't need. Tonight, @ 7pm the pub rang to say.....

@garycarey Hi Gary 👋 The first 10 days after your broadband's been connected is known as the 'stabilisation period'. During this period, the equipment at the telephone exchange is working out the optimal speed for your line, so your broadband speeds are likely to fluctuate. [1/2] Richie

@fesshole Honesty can pay. My brother got a third in the late 90’s as he spent a high proportion of his undergraduate time in India. He applied for a job at Cisco in the Netherlands. He put down his 3rd and was surprised to get an interview and by all accounts did very well and got the job

Got a 2:2 degree back in the late 90s, the drinking man's degree, but on every CV and application form since I put that I got a First. Not once has it been checked.
