Today, on the International Day of Reflection and Commemoration of the 1995 Genocide in Srebrenica, I wish to reiterate Sweden's sympathy and solidarity with the victims, survivors, families and friends grieving for their loved ones. As I visited Srebrenica on this day last year, I was reminded of the resilience and strength of the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the solid bond between our countries. Let us strive for a peaceful and prosperous future together.

Appalled by findings in new OSCE Moscow Mechanism report on Russia's militarization and indoctrination of Ukrainian children. The mission of experts, invoked by Sweden together with 40 OSCE participating States, finds that Russia applies a systematic policy of erasing the Ukrainian identity of children and concludes that Russia has committed serious violations of international humanitarian law and international human rights law. Russia must immediately cease all practices of indoctrination and militarization and ensure the safe return of all unlawfully deported and forcibly transferred Ukrainian children. Those responsible for these crimes must, and will, be held accountable.

The IOC's decision on Russia's future participation in the Olympics is deplorable. The organisation is wilfully turning a blind eye to Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine and intensified Russian attacks on civilian targets. This is the time to increase pressure on Russia, not to make excuses for its war.

Russian strikes on Kyiv last week destroyed a Red Cross main storage facility containing more than EUR 1.5 million worth of humanitarian aid according to the Swedish Red Cross, depriving civilians of vital, lifesaving assistance. Attacks directed against humanitarian facilities are unacceptable and in blatant violation of International Humanitarian Law. Russia must be held accountable.

Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, Minister for Foreign Affairs Maria Malmer Stenergard and Minister for Defence Pål Jonson are now in Ankara for the NATO Summit. Earlier this year, Sweden hosted the meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs in Helsingborg, just two years after joining the Alliance. This was an opportunity for Sweden to show that through its NATO membership it has found its rightful home – and an opportunity for NATO to visit Sweden at home. The meeting in Helsingborg also set the tone for the NATO Summit in Ankara on 7–8 July. The agenda for the Summit includes the Allied countries’ commitments for a stronger NATO, a stronger defence industry and continued support to Ukraine. Sweden is taking its responsibility. Arrived in Ankara for the NATO summit. Our priorities are to reaffirm our defence commitment for a stronger Europe in a stronger NATO, to ramp-up defence industrial production and to ensure longterm and sustainable support for Ukraine. The EU's Political and Security Committee (PSC) has concluded a visit to Kyiv, reaffirming the EU's unwavering support for Ukraine. From high-level meetings to enduring a heavy aerial attack, the visit demonstrated the EU's steadfast solidarity with Ukraine and its people. Grateful to Sweden for the important decision to officially use Kyjiv/Kyiv instead of Kiev, Odesa instead of Odessa, and Donbas instead of Donbass in Swedish-language communications. “Names are not just words – they carry history, identity and self-determination,” Swedish Foreign Minister @MariaStenergard has commented.
