Finally wrapped up development on the @GazeboSim LED Plugin with ROS 2 support and example. Checkout the GitHub repo: github.com/jasmeet0915/gz… Good news 🎉: This might soon be merged upstream in Gazebo. The PR is already up and approved: github.com/gazebosim/gz-s… This plugin allows you to: -> Define LEDs using visuals, lights, or both -> Describe different LED behaviors (idle, warning, emergency, etc.) by defining different with multiple sequences -> Change modes at runtime via a Gazebo topic (ROS 2 bridgable) Checkout the repo README for detailed instructions. I think this is also a good time to mention that we added some lunar terrain models over at @GazeboSim Fuel as part of the @NASA Space ROS Summer Sprint Challenge. These were made using elevation data from LOLA Imager on board the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. Plugin coming soon to create terrains directly using datasets from NASA PDS (Planetary Data System). app.gazebosim.org/jasmeetsingh/f…

You can simulate anything with @GazeboSim if you know how to make System Plugins. This was our submission for the NASA SpaceROS Summer Sprint Challenge 2024 where we simulated: - Dynamically configurable Dust Storms using Particle Emitters & a custom GUI Plugin - Time of Day using a custom plugin that changed illumination and scene color - Real Martian Terrain using elevation data from HiRISE Imager on board the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter - Lens Flare artifacts for real time camera views using the LensFlare System Plugin github.com/space-ros/demo…
