@jmmohr Just because the design is good, doesn't mean it's good branding. The old design had character. That has been eliminated. A design refresh could have maintained the character.

Solid rebrand by Bob’s Red Mill. The new wordmark is well constructed - consolidates the name in a more natural space, so font and impact increases tenfold. Owning the color red, building better on-shelf equity across the line with a better brand block. But what about Bob?

Yes, the United States has the most progressive tax system in the world. The top 1% pay 40% of taxes, the bottom 50% pay 3% of taxes. We can make it even more progressive by zeroing out taxes on the bottom half. It’s a small amount of the total tax revenue but very meaningful to people in this group.
Shay Boloor@StockSavvyShay

Jeff Bezos said the bottom half of Americans should pay zero federal income tax. He cited a nurse in Queens making ~$75K and paying ~$12K in taxes saying “we shouldn’t be asking this nurse in Queens to send money to Washington.”

@justalexoki I used to think I was Left, but just realized I was politically naive. I was likely Right-leaning all along, I just didn't realize what the Left actually was. But also the 90s Left and today's Left are much different. Today's Right feels like 90s Left.

Trump: “I love Canada … But the United States can't subsidize a country for $200 billion a year … You have to run your own country. And to be honest with you, Canada only works as a state … I'm sorry, we have to do this.”

@otf94 @d4doome Mullholland was a failed pilot (the first "dream" half). Lynch figured out how to repurpose it later on when offered money to do so. It was never created as whole from the start. It's still awesome, but not a grand idea all along.

@d4doome Blue Velvet and Mulholland Dr. were written in two different periods for Lynch. Back in 1986 he was a straightforward storyteller, but since 1992 he changed his approach for complex, modernist narratives. If you say M.D. is the same as B.V. then you don't understand Lynch a bit.

Mulholland Drive is a very straightforward film. Once the major mid-movie plot twist kicks in everything that had seemed slightly weird and off-kilter makes perfect sense. The whole "OMG nobody could possibly understand this movie" thing at the time was very silly. It's the same with Blue Velvet and Wild At Heart. Once you figure out what Lynch is up to everything falls into place.

@Rusty__Ronin @AutismCapital Exactly. I lived through the rise of digital art, and what was once "the end of artists" is now considered "traditional art techniques". It's all so tiresome.

This is so based. The creator of Earthworm Jim is telling people that slop is slop whether human made or AI and to not overthink things and just ship. People are trying to tell HIM how his art should be respected and he’s like “Na, use the AI lmao don’t idolize nonsense.” 😂

EWJ was slop when I made him. You probably spent more thought, skill and care in writing prompts to make this Ai image than I did scribbling out the original.

has a single person in the history of humankind ever once associated the love of nature with the right? Is that something that has ever happened literally once at all?

The jury in the Elon Musk vs OpenAI trial has found Sam Altman, co-founder Greg Brockman and OpenAI not liable on all claims because they said Elon Musk waited too long to bring his lawsuit. The jury said that Elon's claims were filed outside of the statute of limitations, deciding that he had three years to sue and he did not file on time. After the advisory jury found Altman and OpenAI not liable, the court, led by U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers, agreed with the determination. The case has been thrown out. nbcnews.com/tech/tech-news…

When asked about the possibility of ending up with two Republican candidates for governor and no Democrats, Gavin Newsom responded: “We all have agencies. We can shape the future… I don’t anticipate this need to be the case, but there is a ‘break the glass scenario.’ There’s many people that have a deep understanding of what it would look like if Democrats were locked out, and we’re going to do everything to make sure that doesn’t happen. I’ll leave it there.” It would be nice if he gave a hint about what lengths he intends to go to in order to ensure a Democrat wins. 🤨

I think the basis of Trump Derangement Syndrome is that Trump is a familiar face in the levers of power. It destroys the illusion that there is this mystical layer of management, rather than just "some guy in charge". The Wizard of Oz is just a man behind the curtain.
