Just watched “Right to fight”documentary, really shows how far Womens boxing has come, it shows the women before the Christy martins, laila Ali’s & the trials & tribulations they went through just to get a license. Let’s not throw all that away now it’s finally in a good place🙏🏼

@Suffragent_ @BBCWomansHour @itsanitarani Of course, Peter. And the doc is not women vs men. One of our main contribs is introduced to boxing by her father who helps her chase her dreams. This film focuses on a bit of history where there was a rule that stopped women from boxing but it was eventually overturned.

Here’s a sneak peak of RTF. In the ‘70s female boxers faced tremendous resistance and not just from the establishment. In Pat’s case, she was told that not only had she received death threats for wanting to box but her gym had been burnt. She went ahead w/her fight, regardless 💪🏼
