You can learn something about a person by whether they watched Cool Hand Luke because of Paul Newman, Axl Rose or Ethan Hawke.

👮‍♂️🚒 Tales of Badge & Blaze™
In July 2017, a 64-year-old retired Miami-Dade firefighter named Jorge Jove was arrested in Hialeah, Florida, after he shot out the tires of two AT&T utility trucks. He was upset because the utility workers had parked their vehicles on the street in front of his home while they worked on overhead phone lines. When the workers told him they needed to finish their job before moving, Jove went inside, retrieved a revolver, and returned to fire at least 18 rounds into the trucks' tires, radiators, and bodies. The incident made national news because an employee, who was hoisted in a bucket above one of the vehicles, recorded the terrifying ordeal on his cell phone while on the line with 911 dispatchers. Despite the erratic nature of the shooting, no injuries were reported. Jove was subsequently taken into custody by local police and charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and felony vandalism.

I dropped my son off at daycare this morning, coffee in one hand, backpack in the other. As I was walking back to my car, another mom called my name. She smiled at first, then said, “Can I give you some advice?” I said, “Sure.” She goes, “You really need to stop making it so obvious that you’re a nurse. Not everyone got to live out that dream. Some parents had to give it up and settle for regular corporate jobs. It’s honestly kind of insensitive.” ⬇️

I HATE writing sentences that leave me no choice but to write "that that" in a row. It just feels so WRONG to me even if it's grammatically correct😭

@kholden @CraigSarg73 Why do we talk of transmission lines for renewables but not for other sources of generation? They either need upgrading or they don't.

@gcgreg @CraigSarg73 Nothing is cheap to build. We are spending trillions on “green energy” and then the upgrade of transmission lines is heaps more too. Most modern countries are now building or planning on building brand new nuclear plants also.

Notice how nuclear keeps hijacking the news cycle? Don't be fooled. This isn't about "keeping our options open." It's a deliberate, billionaire-funded smokescreen to stop us from doing what works right now. Look at the cheer squad pushing this campaign: - The Coalition (Liberal and National Parties), pocketing over $800,000 from Hancock and Adani alone—while fossil fuel interests gifted almost $4 million to major parties last financial year. - One Nation, bankrolled by Gina Rinehart—she recently gifted Hanson a light aircraft worth over $1.5 million, plus another $2 million in cash from her associates. - News Corp, giving nuclear wall-to-wall coverage from The Australian Newspaper to Sky News, while their owner Rupert Murdoch sits on the strategic advisory board of US energy company Genie Energy. Convenient, that. Their big scare tactic is "baseload power or blackouts." But run the numbers. The CSIRO and AEMO who actually do the modelling without a corporate agenda say nuclear will take 20 years to build and cost double what firmed renewables do. Twenty years! That's not a solution to today's power bills or our increasingly erratic weather. It's a stalling tactic. Every year we argue about hypothetical reactors is another year their donors keep mining and burning coal. We shouldn't gamble on the world's most expensive power in the 2040s. We need solar, wind, and battery storage today. This nuclear circus is just a hustle to keep us hooked on the old stuff. Don't let them delay us into a darker future.

Let’s get this straight. You move overseas to work. You drop your Australian Tax Residency status so you can work overseas, but still expect the benefits of having those same status you dropped.

@CraigSarg73 Literally everything you said is bullshit. Most developed countries have nuclear and it’s cheap and clean. Stop making stuff up.
