What does this guy think of us
Ayilola of Nigeria /Laptop Guy 🩺 🇳🇬 🇬🇧🇺🇸@silverpenydr

Hi Davido, This is the Laptop Guy. My mission has been simple: to keep asking for help until as many Nigerian youths as possible can own a laptop and have a real chance to learn tech and build a future for themselves. I know you may have seen my quotes or the open letters where I tagged you. But I want to start by saying this clearly, you do not owe us anything. When Don Jazzy donated 20M to the project, it gave life to the vision. At the current cost of about 260k for a second-hand 8th generation laptop, that amount could only provide about 84 laptops. So far, we have distributed 44 laptops, and by next week we will give out another 10, bringing the total to 54. But along the way, we realized this project had to become bigger than just giving out devices. The 10K Laptops Project has now grown into an NGO called Tech Access Foundation for Youth Empowerment. The goal is not just to hand out laptops, but to create real opportunities. Now, every laptop beneficiary must first be enrolled in a tech training program before receiving the device. This ensures the laptop becomes a tool for learning, growth, and a better future. Beyond that, we now offer fully funded tech scholarships, and we have already established a small tech hub where over 400 students are currently learning tech skills completely free of charge. Out of those students, 10 will be receiving laptops next week to continue their journey. Unfortunately, since Don Jazzy’s donation, there has been a lot of noise on this app, insults, accusations, and attacks on my personality. But through all of that, my focus has remained the same: to make sure this project achieves a purpose so meaningful that every single person who supports it will be proud of what it becomes. You might have heard many Negative things about the #10kLaptopsProject, all of them are completely false. But the truth is visible. Every activity, every laptop distributed, every progress we have made is documented under the hashtag #10kLaptopsProject. I know the comment section after this post might become chaotic again. But for the sake of the young people who genuinely need these opportunities, I am choosing to take this chance and reach out. This is my last resort. Davido, I humbly ask for your support. In the middle of the challenges facing the country today, empowerment and skills remain one of the few real hopes for the youth. Thank you for taking the time to read this. The Laptop Guy

@akinkunmi @obiabo_immanuel I have come to the conclusion these people never handle a MSeries MacBooks. I was rendering 4K videos on my M1 Air with 8GB RAM and that thing doesn’t have Fan… Yet rendering took minutes, same thing that my previous Acer with 16GB RAM will render in Hours.

200k per month for a full remote job is not small, in a startup that is pre revenue. I know it’s small money for people on Twitter. Just resign if it’s too small so someone else who’s ready to work can go for it. Every scheduled meeting, someone will have to call you directly to remind you the meeting have started. Terrible corporate behavioral dispositions.

Most people don’t lack information, they lack sustained attention. Big difference between the two, these days, it's like everything is fighting for your attention.

BIG SCOOP! 🚨 Africa’s defence technology startup, Terra Industries, @Terrahaptix, co-founded by @_KingNath and @Max_Sengu, has raised $11.75 million in seed funding — one of the largest seed rounds in Africa — to build autonomous defence systems in Africa. Backers: The round was led by US venture firm 8VC, founded by Palantir co-founder Joe Lonsdale. Alex Moore, a Board Director at Palantir, has joined Terra’s board. Off stealth: Terra’s just out of stealth mode, but the company already secures critical infrastructure valued at $11 billion across the continent.  Hardware power: The startup has built the largest drone factory in Africa, a 15,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Abuja, Nigeria. 2026 will be a big year in African tech, I can feel it! 🚀 @bigtechthisweek
