I was going to write a tweet thread about why Downtown Grand does so poorly, but I think it is better off as an article. The top point is that it is the only LV casino that consistently has more table players than slot players, which is a symptom of a much bigger problem.

@allenanalysis That and the perceived value isn't there. Parking fees mean you probably play near where you stay and Resort fees and overpriced buffets (if they still exist) and restaurants probably figure into it. They are now competing against every major city in the country.

. @CityofOceanside Is there any possibility that some or all of the fence panels on the South side of the pier could be replaced with shorter sections? I'm seeing lots of folks standing on benches(fall hazard), not to mention people from out of town commenting how ugly it is.

@TravelFanboy My last two trips I found El Cortez to be just fine. When I finally want to sleep, being a bit off the loudness of FSE is valuable. Also Orleans, Main Street Station, Harrahs, and I haven't stayed there in years, but Strat was enjoyable.

Since starting a 'Vegas on a budget site', I've stayed at Crockfords, Bellagio, and NoMad. I'm booked at Cosmo and Aria in Feb.
I should probably throw in an actual budget hotel for one night.
