@UnityCodeMonkey What is needed in programming - is the ability of splitting larger problems into smaller ones, that are easier to tackle. That's a skill you learn in math class, which is why there is such a large overlap in those two skills.

"I suck at math, can I learn programming?" This is a comment I see every once in a while, and the answer is ABSOLUTELY! Math isn't really all that important for programming, (unless you're doing graphics programming from scratch where you do need hardcore matrix math) I'm not very good at math myself. Programming is all about LOGIC which is quite different. You need to think like "ok so here I need to store this data in a collection ,then cycle through all elements in the collection and do something to each element", there's no math involved anywhere in that common task. The most math you need in programming, and specifically game development, is really just basic trigonometry. For example calculating a direction vector is: targetPosition - currentPosition; or moving an object currentPosition += moveVector * Time.deltaTime; So if you suck at math then don't worry! Yes you can still learn programming and make awesome games! Best of luck!

@UnityCodeMonkey Agreed - set yourself some deadlines/milestones. If you don't hit one on time - analyze why. And maybe next time put a bit less on your plate, until you're happy with your pace, and are consistently hitting the deadlines/milestones.

How does one keep on having the motivation/drive to learn? In the world we're in right now it feels tiring to learn even if it is a thing I've been dreaming of doing ever since I was a kid. My advice on this common topic is always quite simple: If this is something you want to do and take seriously (make a living from games) then do NOT rely on Motivation, instead rely on Self-Discipline. Self-Discipline is the concept of doing "what you need to do whether you feel like it or not", that's it. This is my job so I take it very seriously, on days when I'm motivated it's obviously easier, but I can't expect to only work when I'm motivated, I would go bankrupt. So on days when I don't feel motivated it's very simple, I just work exactly the same because it's my job. It's harder to do but the end result is the same. There really is no "secret" or "trick" to it, you just have to treat yourself like a professional and do it regardless of how you feel, just as if you had a bpss over your shoulfder looking at you. Also one great thing is how Self-Discipline is a skill that you can improve. At the start it will be very difficult, for me when I started I couldn't force myself to work more than 2 hours per day, but over time I focused on gaining that skill more and more and nowadays I can work 10 hour days 7 days a week without issues. It's my job so if I'm on the clock then I'm working, regardless of whether I feel like it or not. If you want to make games for a living then treat yourself like a professional, and professionals just do the work no matter what.

@jasonschreier That would mean, that the weird bugs are already there... Software doesn't magically change, after people stop working on it.

@elonmusk If Elon Musk takes over Twitter and brings Donald Trump back, I will be leaving this country. I got my passport last week when I heard he might buy Twitter. Instead I’ll be moving to A CIVILIZED COUNTRY, the gorgeous CANADA 🇨🇦! So long, America! You’ve just lost a citizen. Bye.

New Twitter policy is freedom of speech, but not freedom of reach. Negative/hate tweets will be max deboosted & demonetized, so no ads or other revenue to Twitter. You won’t find the tweet unless you specifically seek it out, which is no different from rest of Internet.

@IGN Twitter's main costs should be reliability engineers and moderation. From software development side, Twitter is not particularly complicated piece of code - could be easily written and maintained by a dedicated team of 20-30 engineers (including client teams).

@elonmusk Any chance of letting us know, which companies do this, and what advertisers they represent, so that we can cancel those that are against free speech? It's time to strike back!

Twitter has had a massive drop in revenue, due to activist groups pressuring advertisers, even though nothing has changed with content moderation and we did everything we could to appease the activists. Extremely messed up! They’re trying to destroy free speech in America.
