Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Keep dancing with the devil, one day, it follows you home. For Nigerian politicians, power has become that dance - reckless deals, broken institutions, short-term gains. And now insecurity and economic pain. The duty of responsibility is lost and the country is paying the price.

Politics of Zero Humanity It is profoundly disturbing that while we, the politicians, continue to obsess over the 2027 elections—spending our energy scheming about how to capture, grab, and run the next election—the first two months of 2026 have reportedly seen the killing of over 1,000 Nigerians and the abduction of several thousand others. This is the painful reality confronting our nation. From Zamfara State to Kwara, Ondo, Kebbi, Edo, Benue, Adamawa, Plateau, and many other states, families have buried loved ones, and communities have been emptied by gunshots and fear. In over 25 states across all geopolitical zones this year alone, there have been major violent attacks on innocent citizens, kidnappings by armed bandits, mass shootings, village invasions, and brazen assaults on worshippers and travellers. The scale of bloodshed and the number of deaths in just two months in Nigeria are even worse than what we see in countries officially at war. Yet the urgency with which we discuss these tragedies does not match the urgency of our discussions surrounding zoning formulas, party structures, and campaign strategies. This is the tragedy of our politics. We debate power sharing while citizens are sharing funeral programs. I watched in tears yesterday as families in the Doruwa Babuje community in Plateau State buried their dead after attacks by armed terrorists, but our media and leaders were focused on discussions about party issues and the 2027 elections, when we aren't even sure we will be alive to see it, given all the deaths happening in our country today. We strategise about 2027 while Nigerians struggle to survive 2026. This is inhumane. We must elevate human life to a sacred status in our national priorities. Leadership is not about winning elections; it is about saving lives. We can, and we must, aspire to a Nigeria devoid of bloodshed—a Nigeria where governance is measured not by political dominance but by the safety and dignity of its people. History will not remember how many strategies we perfected for 2027; it will remember whether we acted when Nigerians were dying. We must choose Nigerian lives over politics. We must put Nigerians first. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

I join many Nigerians, friends, well-wishers and family of late Chief Arthur C. I. Mbanefo, CON, MFR, erstwhile Odu of Onitsha, in mourning the passing of a great Nigerian patriot, at the age of 95. Chief Mbanefo rendered enviable service to Nigeria in both the private and public sectors. He was an accomplished and renowned accounting professional. He also served in the education sector as a benefactor and Pro-Chancellor of several tertiary institutions. Later in life, he served as Nigeria's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations. For his selfless service to Nigeria, he was rewarded with two national high honours, Member of the Order of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (MFR), and Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON). He was also a recipient of the Commander of the Order of Merit, Republic of Italy and Grand Officer, National Order of the Southern Cross of Brazil. Until his demise, Chief Mbanefo was an eminent Nigerian in goodstanding, and had friends, allies, corporate, and personal friends across the national ethnicities. To many Nigerians, who respected and trusted him, he was a much sought-after life-coach, counsellor, adviser, mentor, and teacher. In the same vein, he served on many national commissions and public review boards. In every instance, he offered immeasurable service and brought his vast experience to bear. I personally benefited from his wise counsel at various times. Chief Mbanefo's passing is a huge national loss and a loss to our humanity. I pray that God Almighty will grant him eternal rest and grant to his family the fortitude to bear this huge loss. - PO

Merry Christmas to all, including the Radical Left Scum that is doing everything possible to destroy our Country, but are failing badly. We no longer have Open Borders, Men in Women’s Sports, Transgender for Everyone, or Weak Law Enforcement. What we do have is a Record Stock Market and 401K’s, Lowest Crime numbers in decades, No Inflation, and yesterday, a 4.3 GDP, two points better than expected. Tariffs have given us Trillions of Dollars in Growth and Prosperity, and the strongest National Security we have ever had. We are respected again, perhaps like never before. God Bless America!!! THE LIGHT OF CHRISTMAS Being the Text of the 2025 Christmas Message by Governor Alex C. Otti, OFR, on December 25, 2025 1. Umunne m ndi Abia, I bring you joyful greetings this Christmas morning. On this great day when we celebrate the anniversary of the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, it is only proper that we begin on a note of generous gratitude to the Almighty God for sparing our lives and for bringing us into the joy of the yuletide. Let me also welcome our brothers and sisters who have travelled from different parts of the world to share the warmth and affection of the season with us. We are glad to have you in our midst and wish you the full measure of blessings that Christmas promises. 2. As a government, we appreciate that this season comes with extensive social and economic demands. We have therefore taken extra care to ensure that you can function from any community in the State, however seemingly remote. On account of the massive investments that have been made in road infrastructure development; intra and inter-community travels for the most part have become a pleasurable experience. Our development efforts have also led to modest improvements in electricity and water supply, robust telephony and internet services, and other amenities that support modern living in some parts of the state. I am proud to announce that we now have a functional primary healthcare facility within reach in several communities to support the basic healthcare needs of our people. We have also made necessary arrangements to guarantee the security of lives and property in all parts of the State so you can travel to wherever you choose, within the State, in the confidence that you are in Abia — one of the safest destinations to live and travel to. 3. We appreciate the dire economic situation many individuals and households are passing through. Within the limits of the resources available to us, provisions for family support packages have been made to cater for the extremely vulnerable in different communities. We also invite individuals, families, groups and organisations to reach out to the less privileged and share whatever little we have for therein is the fullness of joy. This Christmas, let us bear the light of Christ’s love wherever we go, encouraging one another with our words, gifts and presence. We may not be able to do much but whatever little we can do with a sincere heart would be sufficient to bring joy and laughter to those in need. I invite us to remember in a special way, our brothers and sisters who may have been incapacitated by the miseries of ill-health and several others who on account of the shipwrecks of life, are unable to independently cater for themselves. Let us be consistently mindful of the fact that we are a family of God’s people where one person’s legitimate anxiety can abruptly steal the sleep from our own eyes. This, indeed, is the best time to be our brothers’ keepers.

If Service is the motive Turning the Tide in Four Years is Possible I still find it baffling that my decision to do a term of four years, if given the mandate to rule this country, is generating so much agitation. By this feeling, we are doubting the fact that a sincere leader can achieve much in 48 months. I have never been desperate in the pursuit of power, or anything else, for that matter. There are some traits associated with desperation, which in no way are in any of my political behaviours in the past and now, like engaging in overly aggressive rhetoric or actions to prove a point or gain attention; becoming overly defensive or reactive to criticism, often to the point of appearing paranoid. Making unrealistic or unfulfillable promises to win support or approval, resorting to personal attacks or character assassination to discredit opponents or frequently changing positions or policies to suit immediate political needs. What drives me is not personal ambition, but a deep, commitment to see Nigeria work. And if the sacrifice required of me is four years of sincere, accountable leadership, so be it. Throughout my political journey, I have never been involved in thuggery, the snatching of ballot boxes, or any form of electoral malpractice. I challenge anyone: conduct your investigations. You will find no stains of rigging or violence associated with my name. I have always chosen the path of peace, principle, and civility. Ask those who have contested against me—none were ever denied their rights, framed, or falsely accused. None was asked to place their advert materials or break the bank to do so. I believe in fair competition, not manufactured victories. In four years we can confront corruption head-on, redirecting resources to priority areas. For instance, the trillions used to acquire new presidential jets and other unnecessary expenses at this time could have been channelled into education, healthcare, or infrastructure. Within the same period, we ensure that the rule is sacrosanct and the rule of law is strictly followed. Within the same period, we can conduct free, fair and credible elections Leadership, to me, is not about entitlement. It is about service. If given the mandate, for just one term, I will dedicate every moment to building a Nigeria that works for all. -PO
