It’s terrible what this country did to our kids, absolutely terrible.

Gen X turned 50 this decade and discovered what 50 now means in America. Still paying the mortgage they bought at the worst time. Still recovering from the career disruption of COVID. Still helping their parents who didn't save enough. Still supporting their adult kids who can't afford to leave. Still five to ten years away from a retirement that keeps getting more expensive to reach. Still showing up. Still not complaining loudly enough for anyone to notice. Gen X didn't get a golden era. They got the bill for everyone else's.

This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. Environment Canada has issued a Tornado Watch. This alert is in effect for a very large part of central Alberta, in between Edson and Edmonton and a few hundred kms to the north and south of these places (see attached map). Severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes may develop today. The greatest risk for tornadoes will be between 4 and 8 PM local time. Crazy how different this summer has been for Edmonton versus Calgary. Calgary has had 10.4 mm of rain so fair this month, and I think I've heard thunder twice. Edmonton has had numerous thunderstorms, and 239.8 mm so far this July! And that's following 263.9 mm in June. #abstorm #yegwx #soggy
