@HarryFromSyd @RobbieBarwick It’s hadn’t stopped us wasting billions on other projects in the past! Have a look at the NDIS! When you buy car/house insurance etc, you hope to never have to use it but it’s there just in case, a few billion to have a fleet off ships ready just in case is money well spent

@geoffOneill6 @RobbieBarwick So your plan was that a massively loss making company that was carrying huge debt should have doubled down? Clearly govt management was never going to work in that industry

Not so fast. It's time you & your neoliberal accomplices owned up to stripping Australia of all sovereign capability. YOU sold Australia's national shipping line in 1998; YOU boasted in 2000 we aren't a "shipper" nation. Now we're fully reliant on foreign shippers. Apologise.
John Anderson AC@JohnAndersonAC

"Australia is the most diesel-dependent economy in the world... if the shipping channels are cut to our North, we will be on our knees within days." John spoke to @Channel7 last night about Australia's fuel crisis. See link in comments below.

@geoffOneill6 @RobbieBarwick The 2 biggest bulk carriers were sold to another govt owned Australian shipping company which operated them until 2012, when they were sold for scrap.

@HarryFromSyd @RobbieBarwick Yes to a degree, but we have privatised all our railway freight systems, we have no capacity to carry vast amounts of extra freight as the private owner companies have not invested in extra locos or wagons. Road is the most inefficient way to carry bulk freight.

@HarryFromSyd @RobbieBarwick I think we would all prefer to have some sovereign capability to transport goods around our large island, it’s not like we have ever been worried about wasting money in the past!

@RobbieBarwick So you’d prefer to have kept a company that was losing millions a year and holding high debt. Weird

So then put your money where your mouth is @PaulineHansonOz Go to the "NATIONAL PRESS CLUB" & give an address & then take questions from Journalists across the board! I challenge you! You are all mouth & no action! Go & present your so called policies. You won't, you have none!
One Nation Australia@OneNationAus

Only One Nation is taking the fuel crisis seriously. The left wants to push Australians into electric vehicles, while past Liberal governments helped create the energy mess we’re in today. One Nation is the only party with a practical, sensible fuel and energy plans to get Australia back on track. Just watched FriendlyJordies latest live stream, it's funny how he copes ''Well One Nation is only 20% of the electorate.'' Yeah dude, if you look at primary vote totals, the mighty Australian Labor Party is like 30-35% of the electorate.

@AvidCommentator Remind me, what credible plans does One Nation have for those two spaces? They’ve got thought bubbles and slogans, not much in the way of “plans” though. You’re not wrong on the majors, but just worth noting One Nation aren’t any better.

One Nation has largely gained ground not because they have won it in a pitched political battle, but because Labor and the LNP have largely ceded the field on key issues such as housing and immigration by simply not having credible plans in the eyes of the electorate.

Future generations will look back and question how a silly, crude, historically illiterate and illiberal ‘oppressor v oppressed’ paradigm almost destroyed Western civilisation.

@Squiddy_____ @RdhGT234 @matt_barrie No one serious believes that, even ALP figures admit that they had to raise immigration to catch up with Covid or skills shortage, you’re only lying to yourself. No point continuing on with this if you can’t even admit to the issue

@geoffOneill6 @RdhGT234 @matt_barrie They did not raise it higher. Net migration has gone down year over year since Labor took power. It's that simple. If you want lower immigration, the only option is Labor and not parties primarily backed by mining magnates who want cheap labour.

@Squiddy_____ @RdhGT234 @matt_barrie Then why don’t you also blame the party that’s currently in power and not stopping it, infact at times it’s even raised it higher! Because you’re an ALP hack!

@Squiddy_____ @RdhGT234 @matt_barrie So now your backtracking and blaming the LNP! Yes they did raise immigration but the ALP have taken it to stratospheric levels, yes it’s has come down, but not as far as they said it would, over 2.9 million on temporary visas! An insane amount during a housing crisis!

@geoffOneill6 @RdhGT234 @matt_barrie They're both 24-25 data. They cover the same period. It wasn't Labor that raised the immigration so high, it was the Libs. Labor has dialed it back since then consistently, year over year.

@Squiddy_____ @RdhGT234 @matt_barrie That’s out of date, that table is from 30th June 2025, it’s risen again from then. You can’t realistically raise immigration to a very high level then cut it by 5% and say “you’re cutting immigration” it’s just gaslighting people
