Many moons ago, there was a little game called No Man's Sky.
Sony, in their infinite wisdom, took control of much of the games PR but instead of hiring a PR person, they took the studio head and shoved him in front of crowds and told him to just "do the PR for us."
What ended up happening was he said a lot of really stupid shit that came back to bite them in the ass later. Not because he was malicious or deceptive, but because he was a code monkey, his brain worked in analytics and data. PR was not a thing that ever concerned him and he had no idea how to handle it.
The lesson we all took from that is that devs should not be their own PR people because they simply have no fucking clue how to do it.
Anyways, there's this game called Hytale and this dude called Simon...

Yeah, the Steam workshop doesn't support many of the features we would like to see. Also, if you type Hytale on Steam, you see Hitler games, I mean, what? The over-indexing negative review was just an easier point to explain than getting into the full details. Negative reviews are the most important ones to me; that's all I've been reading from our testers in the past two weeks. I think that should have been the main point of the blog post, but it is what it is. Now we see that people are REALLY passionate about Steam, almost to the extreme. I also don't really buy games outside of Steam, so I get the hate. However, the best-selling game of all time is not on Steam.

Boa tentativa de atacar o Simon e o Hytale, mas eu ainda vou comprar a versão mais cara do jogo! 👍
Muita gente vai ver vídeos e “notícias” sobre Hytale e falar mal sem entender absolutamente nada sobre o propósito de um early access ou sobre toda a história do projeto. Vão achar que o jogo “é só isso”, uma versão incompleta, ainda em estágio alpha.
O Simon já deixou claro várias vezes que o jogo está longe de estar finalizado, e que ele vai evoluir muito com o tempo, exatamente como aconteceu com No Man’s Sky, Minecraft e tantos outros jogos lançados em acesso antecipado.
Esse tipo de matéria não acrescenta em nada. Só serve para espalhar desinformação e ódio contra a comunidade, contra o Simon e contra o próprio Hytale.
Pelo menos fizeram um marketing gratuito pro jogo 😅
