27 August 1877. Charles Rolls was born in London. In 1906, he co-founded, with Frederick Royce, Rolls-Royce Limited, the British car & aero-engine manufacturing company. He was killed in a plane crash in 1910.

Works to remove five sunken boats from the River Avon in Bath are due to begin on 15 March as part of our Better Moorings project.
The works are weather dependent and are expected to take a week. The towpath and the Pulteney waterway will remain open.

On Friday I finally got around to visiting a church that had been on my ‘must see’ list for ages now…St. Peter and St. Paul in Pickering, North Yorkshire, with its amazing mid-15th century wall paintings…and I was absolutely not disappointed!

Chilly and cloudy out. We almost bumped into a fox. Safe to say, a little noise ensued & foxy loxy made a quick exit. Had a lovely walk to Sydney Gardens yesterday. The sun is so low in the sky now that the tunnel was flooded with light! Quite wonderful! Have a good day! Xx
