One idea I think Dems should rally around and make a central party goal is Medicare buy in at age 50. It's simple, it targets the demographic the party is weakest with (ages 50-64), it strengthens Medicare, and it addresses a real weakness in the current healthcare marketplace.

Relational repair is so difficult because it must involve a moment of defenselessness. You cannot apologize and defend yourself simultaneously. You must, in a way, put yourself at the mercy of the person to whom you failed to show mercy. This is why relationships rarely get repaired at the level they need, and why people instead often just press on in relationships full of repressed resentment and unresolved issues.

Involuntary hospitalization doesn’t work. It’s not effective in the long term & it often leads to a revolving door effect with repeated hospitalizations without addressing underlying issues. It’s the same failing system but swapping hospitals for jails. We need REAL solutions.
