I cannot emphasize enough how much people just want to be seen/heard. Telling a party/candidate that you're struggling w/CoL only to be told that actually you are doing great and should say thank you (before enthusiastically voting for them) is/was infuriating.

Until we make it clear that Republican policy causes their economic woes, Americans will continue to believe Republicans are better on the economy. It’s not about the issues. Biden delivered big for the working class but none of it mattered bc of ingrained perceptions.

When does this get disgusting enough to do something about?

I haven’t heard a single voter across dozens and dozens of swing focus groups point to VP Harris doing events w Liz Cheney as a negative. I have however heard a lot of annoyance over all the celebrities permeating the campaign. As one voter said, “Beyoncé ain’t paying my bills.”

Democrats after losing by 2 points: Our brand is in ashes. We need a complete overhaul. Republicans after losing by 4.5 points: Let's run the same guy again.

I would not even trust the Democrats to be able to do this. We would end up with another conservative justice somehow

10/ Those are hard things for the left. A firm break with neoliberalism. Listen to poor and rural people, men in crisis. Don't decide for them. Pick fights. Embrace populism. Build a big tent. Be less judgmental. But we are beyond small fixes.

I'm not sure we have adequately focused on how dangerous it will be to have a prez Trump who: 1) Knows he has criminal immunity for acts that can be characterized as "official" (such as ordering the military to act); and 2) Knows he has a Congress that will never impeach him.

I was just up in Wichita Falls, a very red part of North Texas. Their economy depends on Sheppard AFB, which has mostly German aircraft stationed there. What will happen if those aircraft leave? Thousands of people who provide food, goods, etc to the base will be out of work.

Something else a lot of people aren't thinking about right now: if Trump pulls out of NATO, a *ton* of red states that depend on allied countries' presence at their local military bases are going to suddenly be in economic crisis.
