@RobertJenrick We should be getting reparations from Africa - the amount of damage Africans have done to this country, and pillaged in benefits runs into the tens (probably hundreds) of billions.

@RMTunion Well it is voluntary, why not have a few of you try the longer shifts with a day off in lieu and then these drivers can report back to you. @ASLEFunion are in favour, as long as drivers aren’t pressurised into agreeing you have nothing to lose. A 4 day week

RMT suspends #tubestrikes this month in four day week dispute Tube union RMT, have suspended strikes this month following progress in talks with London Underground management. The dispute over the imposition of a condensed hours four-day week on tube drivers is far from over but LU management have taken steps in the right direction and are now taking the matter seriously. After a year of telling us their imposed plan is non-negotiable they have now agreed to negotiate with RMT. Further talks are planned in the coming days and weeks to try and reach a negotiated settlement. All other strike dates from April onwards remain in place and additional strike action on 16 and 18 June has been put in place. RMT general secretary Eddie Dempsey said: "Through our show of industrial strength and unity, we have forced management into a position where they are now willing to seriously engage with the issues our members want addressing. "Further talks will take place and the dispute remains live."

@cornwall70001 @tArtanyin @vicsinghb Explaining above that tax isn’t added on afterwards Anyway as a rep I’ve secured my members a reduction in the working week, more annual leave, extra leave after 10 years, a restructure that got members more pay for less hours after selling their Sunday overtime shifts

The price of gas is not set by the international market. What the hell is Miliband talking about? He’s in charge of our energy and he doesn’t know the first thing about it!
Chris Rose@ArchRose90

Just listen to how out of depth @Ed_Miliband is here in this car crash interview. He’s a clueless, dangerous moron who is making us all poorer. The sooner he is sacked, the better.

@tArtanyin @cornwall70001 @vicsinghb They don’t add the tax on afterwards If it’s £1 then 78p goes in tax and 22p to the company Tax cuts increase profits, but firms aren’t required to lower prices. So if the tax was cut to 50p in the £ then that 50p would probably go to the company

@gertcha @cornwall70001 @vicsinghb It's not a discount: two shops sell gas: one sells at £1.78 per bag and the other at £1.50 per bag. Nobody buys bags of gas from the first shop as it's more expensive. *This has been a Care-in-the-Community message.

I met with MP @Nigel_Farage at the Embassy to hear his perspectives on the current status of the U.S.-UK relationship. Nigel has great respect for @POTUS @RealDonaldTrump and the United States. He is particularly fond of the Trump administration’s unwavering commitment to peace through strength. I look forward to working with Nigel to advance the security and prosperity of our countries.

Dear god... 'Ignoring costs and profit of the reseller for a moment, let's assume a therm of gas costs £1 on the global market and the government taxes it 78 per cent, or 78p. The cost to the consumer is £1.78 per therm. If the government reduced tax to 50 per cent, the cost to the consumer would be £1.50 per therm'. ffs, it's not rocket surgery. Although, as soon as I read 'union' I realised that explaining this to you would be like rolling LPG uphill.

Luxembourg is the world’s first nation to offer free public transport for all, tackling traffic and climate change in one bold move. Luxembourg has pioneered a bold new era in urban mobility by becoming the first nation on Earth to eliminate fares across its entire public transport network. This groundbreaking policy covers every bus, tram, and train route nationwide, offering free rides to residents, cross-border commuters, and visitors alike. Financed through general taxation rather than ticket sales, the initiative was designed to tackle the country's severe traffic congestion—once among the worst in Europe per capita—and to sharply cut carbon emissions from road transport. By removing the cost and hassle of tickets, Luxembourg effectively turned public transit into a basic public service, as essential and accessible as clean water or electricity. The impact has been profound and measurable. Ridership surged as people left their cars behind, leading to noticeably less road traffic, shorter commute times, and a meaningful drop in urban air pollution. While first-class rail options remain a paid upgrade for those wanting extra comfort, the standard second-class system is now truly seamless: hop on, hop off, no barriers. Luxembourg's experiment has demonstrated that removing financial obstacles can drive a genuine shift toward sustainable travel habits. It has also served as an inspiring model for other countries and cities grappling with sprawl, gridlock, and climate goals. In an age when radical solutions are needed to address the mobility-climate crisis, Luxembourg proves that treating public transport as a universal right is not only feasible—it can be genuinely transformative.
