The amount of spurs fans excusing 26 losses in a season is actually insane. Ange made the fans and players think getting battered every week is okay… as it became normal under him. Absolutely bonkers. Pathetic.

@THFC_Himothy I agree. (Sounds like we’re in the minority). He’s instilling a new philosophy and half way through a squad rebuild. We’ve prioritised europe over league position when league was diminishing returns (given injuries). Bigger question is (and i hate to think it)…what if he doesnt?

My most important takeaways from the reaction to last night's game. This isn't to call out any fans or attempt to invalidate any opinions after a frustrating night - just my thoughts. - Brennan Johnson is going to be a huge player for this club, and there is nothing to "discuss" on that matter. He is a player used to attacking space in a counter-attacking Nottingham Forest side who is trying to adapt to facing more defensive units. He is not good enough 1v1 against defenders, his decision-making has left a lot to be desired and he doesn't take responsibility in the final third enough... but this will come. Give him time. - "Play Dorrington or Phillips" isn't as simple as that. Throwing them into the deep end in a strewn-together defensive unit lacking cohesion, ability and suitability to our system could stunt their development - imagine the mental impact a couple of bad performances or mistakes would have on them. We might see short term gain, but we don't know what the long term effects could be. - I'm sick of the "sell Hojbjerg", "sell Davies", "sell xyz" tweets flooding my timeline. WE KNOW! These are players who, while they've always lacked consistency, have at least been somewhat suited to the system our last few managers have played. It's going to take time to move everyone on and build a squad for Postecoglou. Getting rid of Winks & Sanchez in the summer was a start. We know who is next on the list. - We need to cut Son some slack on his rare off day. He's been moved out of his preferred position to accommodate the shortcomings of the attackers around him & he has stepped up immeasurably as our captain and main source of goals, so let's remember the great moments this season when he has a game like last night. - We need to try and stay grounded and realise we are still in the very early stages of a project. The start of the season was so fun and exciting, but that was the honeymoon period. There will be ups and downs, there will be performances like last night and there will be a lot of disappointment. But the club is heading in a positive direction on and off the pitch - stay cautious because of who still sits at the top of the tree, but allow yourself to be optimistic for the long term too.

Majority knew then that the style of play had changed for the better was different / what we’re seeing in the league (positive) regardless of the lineup,result at the time etc. 1 game & Ange effect was evident. Immediate impact.

The mentality from the #thfc squad since Ange Postecoglou was appointed has been excellent. Some training ground sources say their immediate buy-in to his ideas is because of how disillusioned they became under Antonio Conte and therefore how willing they were to try something new. [The Athletic]

I very often get told I don't say it how it is and I should say more about how the club is run. I was on Sky this morning expressing my disappointment again and stating it's not good enough, and I feel we have been let down and another great player, who has left us, has been let down. It now seems, people don't like this view and I have received hundreds of DM's today, a lot agreeing, also a lot disagreeing with me stating I should remain positive with Ange in charge. I'm behind him fully, but when you go from Champions League football to Europa League, then to Conference League and now no European football, Poch, Jose and Conte - and then losing your best player - and now with the uncertainty IF we are even spending the money - it's too much to take. I just want direction and I just want to see ambition on the pitch, and I'm sure that's something we can all agree on. It's a sad day for Tottenham fans, and yes, we move on, but there MUST be a plan! #COYS #THFC

@matthayesthfc First stamp of authority from Ange. Wouldnt be bad IF its a good cb with leadership qualities. (Otherwise maybe Romero or Son). Always hard to tell which existing players are leaders off the pitch. Id be up for a player’s vote if needed.

@matthayesthfc If uncertain about Kane - then it probs has to be a new signing. A new cb is a must probs with leadership capabilities especially if Dier goes and surely we all love a CB captain!
