Now he calls on world leaders to help secure one of the most critical shipping lanes on earth and suddenly it’s “clueless.” The Strait of Hormuz carries a massive share of the world’s oil. That affects Europe, Asia, China, everyone. It shouldn’t be only American sailors carrying the entire risk. And holding back additional ships while forcing the rest of the world to show their hand isn’t incompetence. That’s strategy.
