Dublin Lord Mayor Ray McAdam has been selected as the Fine Gael candidate for the upcoming Dublin-Central byelection.
I asked him if he thinks the inner city has gotten safer over the past 15 years that Fine Gael has been in office.
His answer coming soon on @GriptMedia
@busybeerchap@NBCSportsSoccer I may be crazy 🤪 haven't won a game this year. Just lost 3 nil at home, away to Sunderland next up who are excellent at home too. At some point you'll run out of games.
@NBCSportsSoccer Spurs now have a 3 week break. I’m hoping the club will get a couple of old Spurs guys in working together until the end of the season. We can then go on a bit of a run and survive. I may be crazy but I don’t think we will drop.
@twill_94 Think our season is all on the Wolves game. I think we win that one we will be fine and will get 4 points from the next 2. Momentum is everything now and beating wolves is crucial. Do think we have a chance at OT with maguire out.
Point gained on West Ham.
7 to go.
4 points and +10 GD.
Ideally Forest would have lost, but piles pressure on Spurs.
Pressure on West Ham to close the gap with us away at Man Utd a whilst they play wolves at home.
Decent weekend.
@jones_amy71829@WestHam_Central Forest playing well, and if Anderson and Gibbs White stay fit they'll be fine. If summerville stays injured WH will go down. Spurs need any sort of a win as they haven't won this year. If they dont win any of their next 3 they'll go down. Leeds need 2 wins 1 draw and we'll be ok
@OHanlonEilis Maybe if our Govt didn't waste so much of our money they wouldn't need as much tax and therefore wouldn't have to apply 60% taxes on fuel and make things like this a lot worse. Respectfully suggest you direct your suggestions to layer up to those in power (excuse the pun).
This week's column: Expecting the government to step in with emergency handouts every time prices go up just makes us all feebly dependent on the State. We need to man up and stop expecting Superman to fly to the rescue.m.independent.ie/opinion/commen…
@karldeeter How will they pay for their new €500m office suites. The waste of money in every part of Government including the councils is off the charts and Dublin is filthy. Start doing their job is what they should be doing. 🤡
Dublin Council can f*** right off, paying thousands in rates, hundreds and water charges, 25% of their staff should be fired . Why do we never look for efficiency and only for more money to fund inefficiency?
@iGerLynch@henrywinter@LeedsUnited_MAD Simple Fix. If goalie getting treatment no manager or coach from his team can speak another member of the team while he is being treated. Red card if rule broken.
There is one thing that could be done right now, it's minimal but it's something. One coaching member is allowed to stand in the technical area. That applies to when the game is active or stopped. During tactical times outs, especially Brentford last night, the entire coaching team were up and standing in the technical area, some on the edge of the pitch. They can and should be booked for it. Minimal yes, but completely ignored.
Tactical time-outs an increasing problem in football. A few PL clubs do it. Even England have done it. Caoimhin Kelleher may have genuinely been injured - he was able to play on - but Leeds United’s frustration at the disruption was understandable. They were building, had brought on subs and then the game paused.
Daniel Farke already raised concerns earlier this season. Gianluigi Donnarumma went down and Manchester City players went to touchline for instructions. Farke asked the fourth official if he was going to do something.
Officials’ hands are tied at the moment. Teams getting round rule for outfield players to go off for 30 seconds after treatment. Now goalkeepers used for tactical timeouts. IFAB has discussed a nominated outfield player going off for 30 seconds if a keeper has treatment. But concern that a keeper could genuinely have been injured. Possible solution is for players to be stopped from going to the touchline during stoppages or ordered to stay in the centre circle.
Be interesting to see whether World Cup refs clamp down. It’s seeking an advantage by breaking up opposition’s flow, by giving the manager an opportunity for instructions and also it’s time-wasting - and there’s enough of that spoiling games.
@Antoblfc@caulmick@SimonHarrisTD There are 5 million others who likewise feel the same about him, his party @MichealMartinTD Fianna Fail and the Lowry gang. The sooner they are all gone the better for Irish People.
@caulmick@SimonHarrisTD Cool...Energy Debt must disappear between May & September. This guy has to be the stupidest TD Ireland has produced. I fcuking despise him.

Nineteen days have passed since the initial strikes on Iran.
I was among the first to warn that fuel prices would rise sharply.
It has taken the Government almost three weeks to acknowledge what families already feel every day.
The Tánaiste said there should be no knee-jerk reaction.
But when costs are rising this quickly, delay is not prudence. It is failure.
It is easy to raise fuel taxes when you never queue at a pump. It is a different matter when you have to pay for it.
@kenoflynnTD The Irish government is in a race to get a large enough immigrant voter block in place before an anti immigration and euro-sceptic can get their act together.
Based on a 2005 analysis, there are just 4-5 more Dáil terms before the Irish are a minority.
More than 33,000 people are in State accommodation. The average cost is about €71 per night per person, over €2,100 a month before other supports.
Now the Government is softening its stance on family reunification.
The system is too slow, too costly, and too weakly enforced.
Process claims in weeks.
Remove those refused.
Support those entitled to stay.
This is about fairness and control.

JOHN MCGUIRK: As Irish families continue to struggle with the sudden rise in fuel prices, 311 million barrels of Irish oil sit offshore under the Ballyroe Oil field, with the Government determined to "keep it in the ground" because of Climate Policy:

@NiGhallchobhair@Nic21121970 Exactly and the same thing happened in Sutton where someone built a massive extension without planning and now has to remove it.
@Nic21121970 It is sad, but people cannot simply build what they like, where they like, without planning permission. If the council let this go, it would give licence to anyone to build monstrosities or extend their houses as they pleased.
Why can’t the state leave these people alone? Tortured for 20 years until they finally crushed them. Now the family are homeless and this beautiful home in a rural area is going to be demolished just to teach everyone a lesson.
