@plowmanlm @HistoryInPics I got 248. Never had to worry about it again...... luck of the draw....

@HistoryInPics Good news: my number was 341. Bad news: I was already in the service.

On December 1, 1969, the United States held its first televised draft lottery for the Vietnam War. Young men aged 19 to 26 watched anxiously as birthdates were drawn to determine the order of induction into military service.
The process involved selecting 366 capsules, each representing a day of the year, to assign draft numbers.
Those with lower numbers faced a higher likelihood of being called to serve.

@975Hans I always wondered how good Winona and Ramona Olson would've been as athletes had women's sports become as popular in their generation as they are today. They certainly had the genes.

Today we honor the extraordinary legacy of Cedric W. Dempsey '54, beloved Albion College alum, supporter, and former NCAA executive director/president. A true Briton who excelled as a three-sport athlete in football, basketball, and baseball, Cedric went on to serve as our men's basketball and cross country coach (1959-62) before becoming associate athletic director in 1965. For more than three decades, Cedric and his wife, June, remained loyal and generous supporters of Albion College, embodying the spirit of commitment that defines our institution. His remarkable journey from student-athlete to leader has not only inspired generations, but also catapulted the NCAA into the mega operation it is today. Dempsey
was honored this past Sunday at the NCAA women's basketball championship for the impact he made on intercollegiate athletics, and will be recognized at tonight's game as well.
Rest in peace, Cedric—your Albion family will never forget you. Continue reading more of Dempsey's impact on the Albion College and college athletics communities at the link.

@MarkHarlan_AD Ced was surely proud of you, Mark. Carrying on his success and integrity.

Incredible man and a transformational leader. Ced was my first AD when I entered the intercollegiate athletics business at Arizona and I
will forever be grateful for his guidance. My thoughts are with June and their amazing family.

Brought Arizona Lute Olson, Mike Candrea and Joan Bovincini, to list a few. One of the greatest ADs not only at Arizona but also in the nation historically.

RIP Cedric Dempsey. And on the day the Final Four commences. Stupendous leader. 94 great years.

@ghansen711 what’s your estimate of his earnings (gross) for those 82 games in roughly 3.5 months??
English

@ghansen711 I’m not sure I feel bad.
Let’s be honest. Is felt like Tony has a personal vendetta since he touched the ball.
