@benwhitemd Voluntary is an ACGME term meaning they didn’t lose accreditation. The contract included several hospitals, not just the one with the residency. The hospital admin gave the contract to a private group that didn’t want to support the residency.

@ghenkle Voluntary seems like a bit of a euphemism in this situation? I was under the impression that the hospital couldn't find a local/regional group willing to staff the program.
Did the original group want to close their residency and drop the contract or was that an RP decision?
