Too much waiting that has stretched into injustice. Too much pain born from events that should never have been allowed to unfold. Too much that should never have happened to an upright officer who sacrificed his entire being to fight for justice for the victims of hate and violence. Over these years, we have watched the slow violence of judicial injustice unfold, not as a single event, but as a continuous process. Trumped up charges created not for truth, but to silence the voice of truth. Procedures stretched until fairness collapsed under their weight. Time itself weaponised against you and against us. Each delay, each denial, each indifference extracting its price, emotionally, mentally and physically. Despite it all, Dad, you have carried yourself through these years with a quiet dignity and strength that no verdict can diminish. While injustice has tried to define you through numbers, files, and false accusations, you have remained exactly who you always were, principled, brave, and unwavering. Even behind walls meant to confine you, your moral authority and courage have travelled freely, far beyond courtrooms, beyond prisons, beyond the reach of those who tried to bury it. History will forget these excuse of men, who abused their power to silence your voice of truth, but you, Dad, will always be remembered as a man who chose conscience over comfort, truth over self-preservation, and courage over compliance … the one who stood firm when the cost was unbearable. As your children, we have not been shaped by weakness or loss. We have been shaped by your example! We have learned clarity from your clarity. Courage from your courage. Can Javed Akhtar switch his lungs and kidneys on and off at his will? NO. Does anyone of us have any control over the various processes happening inside our bodies? NO. We can control our health with diet and exercise, but we have no control over the several systems by which we breathe and live every day. Have you noticed that the night always follow the day, and the day always follows the night? That two nights never follow each other successively, and two days never follow each other successively? Is any human being capable of producing and managing a system that functions smoothly without an error ever? There is an unseen power that is governing and administering the movements of the sun, the earth and other cosmic bodies, the running of rivers through their courses and meeting the oceans, the honeybees producing honey, the birds and insects carrying pollen from one flower to another. That unseen power is God. God does exist. You need to ponder over nature, and know.
